This story was gritty and emotional. Ethan suffers from PTSD. Elly suffers from self-esteem issues and feels like she has never been good enough for her family. The chemistry between these two characters in undeniable. Ethan starts to realize there is something out there worth fighting and getting better for. He has not felt that since he came home from the war. Elly learns that she only has to be good enough for herself. She is the only person she has to change herself for.
I like the way the author portrays the effects of living with PTSD and how it affects them all the time. I love that this did not put off Elly. She has such a big heart and it is a shame that she doesn’t feel like she is worthy of love.
