Review by: Tatia

No one, and I mean no one, does a love triangle like Jessica Hawkins. I loved her Cityscape series, but I think I loved Slip of the Tongue even more so.
We have Nathan and Sadie. To everyone looking in they seem like the perfect couple, like they have marriage and life in general all figured out. Things aren't always as they seem though. Sadie knows that first hand. When a new neighbor moves in across the hall, Sadie finds herself with a crush on him. No harm there. She knows there's no harm in finding him cute. When does a crush turn in to something more? Why do the lines get crossed and blurred? When Nathan repeatedly turns her away, she finds solace and comfort in the new neighbor, Finn. Now how does she choose? Go with Finn who makes her feel special and wanted or stay with Nathan and fight for her marriage?
I knew going in there was a love triangle. It's rare that I go for that kind of story, but there is just something about the way that Jessica Hawkins does them that I love. I have that antsy, gut-wrenching feeling in my chest and stomach throughout the whole story. I saw a different outcome playing out in my head. I thought I had it all figured out, how everything would go down, the big climatic scene. I had it wrong and was very pleasantly surprised. While the ending did feel a little sudden to me, the story itself was perfect where it ended. No matter the story, I always want more when I finish. I'm just not quite ready to let go of these characters. Those kind of stories are my favorite. These are the ones that I seem to hold on to and remember the most.

In his dimly-lit kitchen, Finn lays a comforting hand on my shoulder. “I have to tell you something.” My hairline prickles. I can sense whatever he says will be heavy, and I’m not sure I want to hear it. I force a crooked smile that probably looks as awkward as I feel. Since I just fed Ginger, I joke, “What? I smell like dog food?” “I want to kiss you,” he says without missing a beat. “I won’t, but I just thought you should know.” My stomach drops as if I’m in free fall. I bite my lip involuntarily, then release it, afraid it’ll look like an invitation. Can he really come out and say that? Without prompting, without wavering? You can want to kiss someone and not say it. Should I be angry he confessed that? I’m not. I’m curious. Stirred, even. And because we’re being honest, I ask what I want to ask. “Why?” “Why do I want to kiss you? Or why did I tell you?” My heart rate picks up. I lose my nerve. “The second one. That’s not the kind of thing you just come out and say to a stranger. A married stranger.” “I like you.” He absentmindedly caresses the nape of my neck with his fingertip. “So I want to be honest.” I put my hand over his wrist, and he stops. Now, and for the last hour, it’s as if we’re the only two people on the planet. The Bad Wife and the Stranger. If I let him kiss me, nobody would ever know. After all, Nathan might be kissing someone else too. Why else would he have lipstick on his tie? Finn doesn’t wear lipstick. Neither do I. It would be our secret. “You’re leaving, aren’t you?” he asks. Am I? I have to. I don’t trust myself to stay, and I don’t trust myself to speak, so I nod. I don’t have to pull his hand away. He takes it back willingly. And he walks me to his door.

Sticks by T. Gephart►RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW

Title: Sticks
Series: Black Addiction #2
Author: T. Gephart
Genre: Rock Star Romance
 Release Date: February 28, 2016

Blurb

Kenzie Clark had made plenty of mistakes. Who cared? Life was all about the journey, and if you couldn’t enjoy the ride then what was the point. The tough-talking guitarist from Brooklyn, NY worked hard so she could play even harder. But some mistakes weren’t so easy to walk away from. Joey Shaw, drummer for Black Addiction, was exactly that kind of a mistake.

How could one night of fun turn into a life long commitment? That’s exactly what Joey was asking himself when Kenzie showed up a few weeks later—the soon-to-be baby bump with his name written all over it. He could barely tie his shoes; how in the hell was he going to raise a kid?

With neither of them ready to become parents, it was always going to be a difficult, but there was no way either of them were walking away. Come hell or high water, they were having this baby—together.

Hopefully they would both be still standing by the birth.

Every now and then you come across a book that just completely blows you away that you don't know how to put it into words...yup that was this book!!! I just absolutely LOVED IT! Sticks started off with a BANG and it only went up from there! It was funny, sweet, some angst, drama, and several steamy scenes! The humor was just spot on! For me it was just everything!

I loved the characters! Kenzie is strong and independent and doesn't put up with anything. Joey is cocky and arrogant but hilarious!!! Sometimes he doesn't always do the logical thing but it's the thought that counts. Like a little incident with the bathroom and a cup...yeah you will need to read it to find out! But together they just made the perfect couple, for a perfect book!

I have read several books by this author and I have enjoyed every single one of them! It is well written with fun story lines, amazing characters. To me they just felt real! This is a must read book! And a must read author!

Review by: Sam

Oh my sweet baby Jesus! I don't even know where to start with describing my love for this author, this series and this new addition. I swear, it is up there with my all time favourites and I couldn't have asked for a better read to drag my miserable ass out of the book funk I have been sat in for the past four weeks.

T Gephart writes rockers like no other, but she also writes the strongest heroines!! I fall hard for the characters, the story, the humour, the depth, the creativity and most of all THE FEELS!!!! I take in every single written word of her stories and return to them over and over again. The fictional world she creates for each series is enough to make any reader want to climb inside their reading device and live there right alongside the unforgettable characters.

'Sticks' is Joey and Kenzie's story. Joey is the drummer for the band, 'Black Addiction' and let me tell you this, HE IS EVERYTHING I NEED AND SO MUCH MORE FROM A BOOK BOYFRIEND. He has such a cockiness and confidence that is my weakness, but above all of that, he has a huge heart and is loyal through to the bone. Joey eat, sleeps and breathes the band, in his free time, he loves to indulge in women. But Kenzie is different. She is the girl he can't stop thinking about, and the night they shared takes over his thoughts daily. The way the author has written his character is completely addictive. Joey has so many amazing traits to his personality making him one of absolute FAVOURITES.

Kenzie is an absolute freaking hoot. I adored everything she brought to the story, her sass, her independence and how she is prepared to do things on her own. She expects nothing from no one and is one of the strongest heroines I have had the pleasure of reading. I LOVED how T Gephart progressed Kenzie's character. Right to the very end of the story, her character held my attention I am sporting one gigantic girl crush.

I don't want to spoil the story. It just would be an absolute catastrophe to even dream of it. Therefore, my review may come across as a little vague. But it really is because this book deserves to be read by each individual. I know without a doubt that I will be returning to this book over and over again. I haven't been able to pick up a book for the past four weeks because I thought I lost my reading mojo!!!! I am absolutely freaking ecstatic that the INSANELY TALENTED , T Gephart signed, sealed and delivered another stellar book to this series and the book world.

5 GIGANTIC STARS

Review by: Erin

This story rocked! I fell in love with these characters from the start. Kenzie is a laid-back, go with the flow kind of girl. She is not looking for her knight in shining armor. Joey is hilarious! He is the fun guy everyone wants to be around. Some of these scenes had me rolling in the floor. But, he has a soft side that is completely heart-melting. He also gets his feelings hurt often but uses his humor to hide behind. These two together are magic. They have a chemistry that is off the charts. Of course, it wouldn’t be a great rocker romance without some drama thrown in there. Just to keep you hooked and not able to put the book down. I can’t wait to see what is in store next!

Prologue - Kenzie

Oh. Fuck.

Fuck.

Fuck.

F. U. C. K.

That’s exactly what should be displayed in the window of that plastic contraption shaking in my hand instead of that obnoxious plus sign. The bright blue horizontal and vertical line against a stark white background. Taunting me as I stood there hoping it was some cruel optical illusion.

But it wasn’t.

Oh my God, I was going to be sick.

My head spun as I sunk to my ass on the cold tile floor. The stick that ten minutes ago had been so innocent and harmless was still in my hand as I struggled not to hyperventilate. This couldn’t be happening.

I was pregnant.

As waves of nausea rolled through my body—something I’d been experiencing a lot lately—my brain tried to reconcile my new reality. My life as I knew it was well and truly over.

I am going to be someone’s mother.

My hand had barely managed to lift the lid of the toilet as I lost my battle with my stomach. The full body heave expelled not only my breakfast but also my soul into the bowl as the evil EPT wand fell out of my hand and onto the floor. My future—as well as my blueberry bagel—now in the toilet.

I had done a lot of stupid stuff in my time. I’ll be the first to admit that, but Joey Shaw was by far the dumbest.

Unlike most of the girls he seemed to entertain, I’d known Joey for years. Our bands had crossed paths from time to time on the bar circuit, even sharing the stage once or twice. The appreciation we had for each other was mutual, both professionally and otherwise. He was good looking, sexy and had a body built for sin. It was only a matter of time before we ended up doing the in-between-the-sheets tango; I was impressed at how long I’d resisted.

Driven by hormones instead of brains, our little game of flirting came to a very lustful, sexy conclusion last month. That mouth of his wasn’t only talking up a good show, with every single egotistical boast coming out of it not even close to the mind-blowing orgasm he’d given me. His body absolutely delivered on the promise of crazy and unrestrained sex. It had been a night that wasn’t going to be easy to forget. Now it seemed, he had gifted me a permanent reminder.

Fuck.

I was so screwed.

We had barely even spoken since our hook-up, happy for it to be a casual thing between friends. It’s not like I was looking to date him. Ha. Not in this lifetime. I wasn’t that delusional. The man was hot. Not denying that, but I’d had longer relationships with a pizza than Joey had with women. So, I was happy to collect on the toe-curling sex without the side order of is-he-ever-going-to-call-me-again. God damn it. How could I have been so freaking stupid?

Ugh. My stomach churned again as my brain rationalized spending most of the day locked in my bathroom. It seemed like a solid idea, one that would see me postpone the what-the-hell-did-I-do-now that was begging to be dealt with. Ha! As if.

This year had started out with so much promise. The band was doing great. While no record deals had come our way, our song had gotten thousands of hits on YouTube. And there wasn’t a Saturday night where we didn’t play. Not just dive bars but actually great gigs. We were even making decent money too. Life was pretty awesome. Was. Past tense. Now, of course, I was a few months away from hawking my six-string at PawnRUs and getting a day job at Denny’s.

Poor Joey.

The sexy six-foot, dark-haired drummer had no idea that our baby was going to be the first and last child he would father, his balls soon to be hanging from my rearview mirror. I’d be sure to inform him and offer my condolences when I ripped them from his still-breathing body. His dick also at risk of ending up a hood ornament. It was only fair seeing as my body would be waving its red flag of rebellion in the coming months that his should suffer too. Might as well wear my skinny jeans while they still fit me, lord knows I was going to be rocking elastic waistbands and stretchy pants in the very near future. My wardrobe, the least of my worries.

Huh. I was going to have a baby. My hand unconsciously brushed against my flat-for-now belly, the life its dumbass parents created growing inside of me despite my lack of a clue. A missed period and some wicked fatigue the only hint that something was amiss. And in an instant, it had all changed. Knocked up, sitting on my bathroom floor with my head down a toilet, and I had absolutely no idea of how I was going to be someone’s mom.

Inside of me there was a tiny life. A little helpless human who needed my love and protection, who hadn’t asked to be born but had been put there nonetheless. Trusting that I would keep him or her safe until he or she was ready to enter into the world. My baby. Mine.

Great. Now my eyes were leaking. The fucking body rebellion I had expected months from now had already started as tears streamed uncontrollably.

What the hell was happening to me? I wasn’t one of those emotional girls who wept when they lost their favorite purse. I played in a rock band for God’s sake; I didn’t do crying. It was Joey’s fault. Yes. Let’s blame that asshole and his potent freaking sperm. He was the reason I had apparently lost my mind and would soon have a full uterus. And now I was back to being mad again.

Awesome.

This was so going to be fun.

Oh, please let me not kill him.

Author Bio

T Gephart is an indie author from Melbourne, Australia.

T's approach to life has been somewhat unconventional. Rather than going to University, she jumped on a plane to Los Angeles, USA in search of adventure. While this first trip left her somewhat underwhelmed and largely depleted of funds it fueled her appetite for travel and life experience.

With a rather eclectic resume, which reads more like the fiction she writes than an actual employment history, T struggled to find her niche in the world.

While on a subsequent trip the United States in 1999, T met and married her husband. Their whirlwind courtship and interesting impromptu convenience store wedding set the tone for their life together, which is anything but ordinary. They have lived in Louisiana, Guam and Australia and have traveled extensively throughout the US. T has two beautiful young children and one four legged child, Woodley, the wonder dog.

An avid reader, T became increasingly frustrated by the lack of strong female characters in the books she was reading. She wanted to read about a woman she could identify with, someone strong, independent and confident and who didn't lack femininity. Out of this need, she decided to pen her first book, A Twist of Fate. T set herself the challenge to write something that was interesting, compelling and yet easy enough to read that was still enjoyable. Pulling from her own past "colorful" experiences and the amazing personalities she has surrounded herself with, she had no shortage of inspiration. With a strong slant on erotic fiction, her core characters are empowered women who don't have to sacrifice their femininity. She enjoyed the process so much that when it was over she couldn't let it go.

T loves to travel, laugh and surround herself with colorful characters. This inevitably spills into her writing and makes for an interesting journey - she is well and truly enjoying the ride!

Based on her life experiences, T has plenty of material for her books and has a wealth of ideas to keep you all enthralled.

Tied Bond by Emma Hart► REVIEW TOUR

TIED BOND
Release Day February 25th
Holly Woods is going to hell in a handbasket—but this time, Satanists aren’t to blame. Halloween is.
Nonna doesn’t understand why there are skeletons and demons everywhere. Mom is threatening to stitch a devil into Nonna’s pillowcase if she doesn’t shut up. Bek is bumbling over a date with Jason, the handsome FBI agent who conveniently got himself relocated to Austin, and I… Well. I’m considering running away to a town without the crazies.
Nothing new here.
Everything is going smoothly—too smoothly—and I can’t shake the feeling that something is about to happen. Drake insists I’m being paranoid… But when a body turns up at the Holly Woods Halloween party, we have a whole lot more than a murderer to worry about.
Because the prime suspect is his mom.
And it’s my job to prove she’s innocent.

(Tied Bond is the fourth full-length book in the Holly Woods Files series and does not stand alone.)

Review by: Dawn

This has to be one of my Favorite series of ALL time. She continues to surpass everything that I think she is going to write. This is one of the most fun loving quick witted series out there. Every time I think I know where these books are going she takes us to a whole new directions. I love these characters and can't wait to continue the journey that Emma takes us on.

Review by: Tatia

Everything about this series is perfection. There's humor, romance, suspense. When you put them all together, it makes for my favorite series.
Up until this point in the, there has been a lot of suspense in each book. It was packed full, and you were left guessing about who or what was causing it all. Tied Bond was a little different. All of the components were still there, there just weren't as large doses of it all.
Noelle and Drake's relationship is as strong as ever. The fact that Drake continues to put up with Noelle's family is a testament to how much he loves her. With his mom back in town, we're getting to see a different side to Drake. Things are finally calm in Holly Woods, at least that's what Noelle is thinking. That is, until they're not. Only difference with this case is that she doesn't have Drake's help. He's not allowed on the case at all.
I kind of loved that there wasn't as much drama in this book. We got to see more of Drake and Noelle's relationship, how they're growing together. Nonna is just as great as well. She is getting in to just as much trouble as usual.
This series is just so easy to read. All of the elements that make it great are ones that I look for when finding the next best book. Emma Hart just happens to be amazing at mixing them all together. I'll be impatiently waiting for the next book as usual!

Tied Bond is the 4th book in the Holly Woods Files. You need to start at the beginning with Twisted Bond because well... why the hell wouldn't you? You'll want to fall for Drake from the beginning.
This time around the craziness in Holly Woods hits too close to home for Drake. Noelle is asked to help without Drake knowing about it. Noelle gets to be that bad ass investigator we all know she is, while getting to work closely with Drake again. Sigh....OH! And of course there is Nonna! Good god I love that crazy grandma!!
I love love love the way Emma Hart has brought these characters to life. Drake is just a dreamy hunk of a detective and Noelle is a kickass, cupcake loving heroine we want in a book. You'd be crazy not to want to read this series. Funny and romance all rolled into one.

EXCERPT:
“Kellie! You put-a that-a devil-a down!”
“It’s not a devil, Liliana. It’s a demon. Once that will find its way into your bedroom if you don’t get. Off. Of. It!”
I fold my arms across my chest and lean against the front door. Have you ever seen an elderly Italian woman and a fifty-something year old woman playing tug of war with a decorative demon? No?
Lucky you.
“I do not-a care! It is-a not-a going on-a my-a house-a!”
“It’s my house!” Mom yells. “You haven’t paid rent for ten years!”
My eyes widen. Oh boy. Here we go.
“I no need-a pay-a rent! I cook-a, I clean-a! That-a is-a my rent!”
“You clean the kitchen, you crazy old lady!”
Nonna gasps, her hand flying to her chest in dramatic horror. “I am-a not-a crazy!”
“You’re so crazy you’re lucky you’re not in a home!”
“Noella!” Nonna spins, pointing a wrinkled finger in my direction. “Am-a I crazy?”
Way to put a girl on the spot, Nonna. “Well…” I say the word slowly. “Crazy is a strong word…”
“Ah-ha!”
“But then again, so is normal.”
“Noella!”
“What? You asked, I answered.”
She sniffs and pulls her light wrap around her shoulders. “Why-a you-a here? Don’t you-a have-a to feed-a your man?”
“No. He’s working.”
“Ah-ha! I will-a call-a Drake and report this… This-a merda!”
Mom staggers back, her jaw dropped. “Liliana! That language is not appropriate!”
“Neither is-a your-a demons!” Nonna finally manages to wrench the demon away from Mom and waves it enthusiastically. “Pah!”
Then, to Mom’s undisguised horror, she throws it onto the ground. My eyebrows shoot up, and I step to the side as Nonna storms toward me. Well, as quickly as an old woman with a cane can storm, that is.
“Liliana! You pick that up right now!”
“No! I call-a the police-a!” Nonna frowns and waves her cane in Mom’s direction. “You-a disturb-a the peace!” She turns and shuffles into the house.
“She’s not actually going to… Never mind,” I say, hearing her yell down the phone. Yep, she’s actually calling the police station.
That’s a new one, even for the Bonds.
“She’s crazy!” Mom’s face is bright red as she bends forward to pick up the demon Nonna defiled with dirt. “She needs putting in a home!”
“You’d need to get her sedated before you try that.” I straighten a pumpkin Nonna apparently knocked over. “Just put the demons somewhere she can’t see them and then the problem is solved.”
“Oh yes?” Mom raises her eyebrows then pulls out a giant cloaked figure. “What do I do with Lucifer?”
I stare at the five-foot tall devil decoration that usually spends the holiday hanging on the tree at the bottom of the yard. Its motion-sensor makes it moan every time you walk past it, and the long robes are forever getting caught on the bush beneath the tree. “Mom, you might give her a heart attack if you hang him this year.”
“Good,” she mutters. “I might get some peace, then.”

Twisted Bond:
I’m an Italian-Texan woman in a family full of cops. I’m passionate and shoot before I think. You only f*ck with me if you’re stupid.

Photograph cheating spouses. Hand over the evidence. Cash my check.
That was my plan when I returned home to Holly Woods, Texas, and became a private investigator.
Finding the dead body in my dumpster? Yeah… Given the choice, I think I would have opted out of that little discovery, especially since all three of my brothers are cops. And my Italian grandmother is sure the reason I’m single is because of my job.
Of course, my connection to the victim is entirely coincidental. Until I’m hired by her husband to investigate her murder and shoved bang-smack into the path of Detective Drake Nash.
My nemesis, a persistent pain in my ass, and one hell of a sexy son of a bitch.
Shame he still holds a grudge from that time I shot him in the foot twelve years ago, or we could have something. In another life.
So now all I have to do is avoid my nonna’s blind dates, try not to blackmail my brothers into giving me confidential police files, and absolutely do not point my gun at Drake Nash. Or kiss him. Or jump his bones.
All while I hunt down the killer.
Sounds totally simple—until a second body proves that sometimes things that start as coincidences don’t always end up that way…

(Twisted Bond is book one of the Holly Woods Files series and while it does not end in a cliffhanger, it is not a standalone.)

TANGLED BOND (Holly Woods Files, #2)

One date with the sexier-than-sin Detective Drake Nash. Simple.
Until you take into account that my brother finally proposed to his girlfriend, so Nonna is on a warpath—and the crazy old bat has Cupid by the balls.
The upcoming mayoral elections has everyone running on full speed, and while I couldn’t give any less craps about the corrupt Holly Woods mayor’s office, a dead body in the middle of a campaign speech has me thrown right into the middle of it. The victim is close to the mayor, but all he cares about is minimizing the damage to his campaign, so he hires me to work alongside Drake to close the case as quickly as possible.
Bad news for our tentative relationship.
We disagree far more than we agree, but being at loggerheads won’t get this murder solved… Or deal with the arrival of someone from his past.
The mysteries behind the murder aren’t the only things unraveling, and despite being knee-deep in lies and corruption and bonds so tangled they’re almost indecipherable, I have to figure out if I’m willing to fight for Drake the way I do justice…
Or if he’ll be my one who gets away.

TETHERED BOND
Detective Drake Nash: hot, alpha, bossy, and… mine.
Now, if someone could tell his ex that... I don’t care if the summer fayre is coming to Holly Woods and she’s on the planning committee. What I do care about is sugar-filled food, bright lights, late nights… and danger. The type that won’t come in the form of Nonna’s new cantankerous British parrot, Gio. (Please see the damage done to Mom’s new curtains.)
Unfortunately, when the danger comes, it comes in the form of something Holly Woods has never seen. The town is rocked to its core, and once again, I’m in danger. Only this time, it isn’t because of my clients—this time, I’m in danger because of who I am… Because of my heritage.
And despite the HWPD’s best efforts, the bodies keep on piling up.
Drake’s determined to protect me. I’m determined that I can do it myself.
Danger. Mystery. Darkness. Malice.
It’ll be a miracle if any of us make it out of this with guns unfired, cupcakes still frosted, and hearts intact…
