Title: Saving Her
Author: Alexis Noelle
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: August 17, 2015
My heart was crushed by a man who promised me everything and then took it all away. He proved to me that you never really know someone. People lie. Love is meant for fairy tales, not real life. He makes me want to throw caution to the wind. I don’t want love, but I do want Mason Brooks.
Love is a fantasy. Something that people convince themselves is real, but it isn’t. I was taught at a very young age that love is toxic. Since then I have learned to not need anyone. I have a small group of friends but they are given my loyalty. I have no use for love. She is dangerous to me. She makes me wonder what her touch would feel like. Lacey Hunt is toxic to me.
When two people are irreparably broken can they rise from the ashes?
Can love exist in two black hearts?
Review by: Erin
This story will leave you in tears. Mason and Lacey have both lived through hell and come out on the other side. Lacey doesn’t want to want Mason, but she can’t seem to say no. Mason doesn’t do relationships, doesn’t believe in love. His upbringing taught him that it is not in the cards for him. When these two collide, there are fireworks. Mason learns how to let Lacey in and how to love. Lacey has a decision to make that could cost her everything. Lacey and Mason are both strong characters. Although in the end, I believe Lacey is the strongest of all. The author did a wonderful job with this story. She has real guts to take this story to its conclusion. I suggest lots of tissues be present while reading this story.
