IN THE DARK (Book 2) August 25, 2015
Stuck spending the summer with his screwed up family, Gabriel Walker is bored out of his mind and looking for an adventure. And he seems to find it with the hot girl who lives next door. The attraction between them is instant. Electric. Soon they’re spending every stolen minute together. Talk about the perfect summer fling…

Lucy isn’t what she seems. She doesn’t live next door—she’s the girl who’s been hired to house sit for the summer while the family goes on a worldwide vacation. If Gabe wants to believe she’s a spoiled rich girl looking for some fun, she can go along with that. After the summer, she’ll never see him again.

They don’t count on running into each other at college. Now Lucy must keep up the pretense of being a rich girl—and it’s exhausting. She knows she’s falling in love with Gabe and she’s scared he feels the same. Will he still care about her when he discovers the truth?

Review by: Gina

I loved this book! It was fun, enjoyable read, with nothing that was too heavy. There were several laugh out loud moments. I found it to be well written and have a very entertaining story line.

There was so much push and pull, back and forth between, and the sexual tension between Gabe and Lucy was a lot to take in. I felt a little sad for Lucy. Her mom's past experience has sort of traumatized Lucy and has prevented her from experiencing life a little. She does have some insecurities, that she mentioned several times through out the book, I got a little annoyed with that because it made her seem whiny. But Gabe was always there to reassure her.

Both characters had their struggles and it was rewarding to see them over come those. This is a great book, great series, that I highly recommend. Looking forward to reading more!

Monica Murphy does it again! I fell in love with this story and could not put it down. It was one of those that I did whatever I could to prolong it. I read it as slow as I possibly could. I loved getting a little more of Shep and Jade from Fair Game, but I fell in love with Gabe and Lucy even more.
Gabe can't get away from his family. He's 21 years old and still has to go on boring family vacations. He's always had player tendencies. With a "one and done" motto, he's not looking to settle down anytime soon.
Lucy is a beautiful, curvy, young woman. She's not particularly fond of them, but she still has a sense of confidence. She's house sitting for a wealthy family over the summer when she notices the handsomely attractive boy vacationing next door. She can feels his eyes on her, so she flaunts what she has, loving the feeling that comes over her.
This story was perfect. Laughter, sexiness, a few rough times to test the relationship...these all equaled a book that I had eagerly been anticipating and for good reason. I can't wait for the next book in this series...I'm expecting a rough yet fun ride.
