Everything about this book is amazing. I love Shya's writing style it pulled me into the story from the first page and kept me engaged the entire book. The storyline itself was unique and full of twists and turns.
Blue was an inspirational character. Strong, loyal, smart, loving and tough but not without
a vulnerable side. Her devotion to her family even when they didn't deserve it was inspiring. She was everything I want in a character.
Shadow is gritty, mean, cunning, loyal, and strong with a softer side when it comes to Blue. His ability to equal divide his time between the club and his woman and son made for a great story. He was who he needed to be for both while still being true to himself. Plus his dirty mouth made for some sizzling sex scenes.
A Lighter Shade of Blue is at the top of my MC must read list.

This book had everything I expect a great MC romance to have. Bikes, prison, drama, danger, passion, love, protective caveman alpha males, and hot dirty talk. This story was exciting, had a couple twists and turns, and kept me interested the from cover to cover. Shadow has spent a long time trying to get over the lie that cost him what he wanted. Things are different now and he is going to get what he wants this time. He is a strong character who stands up for his club, his son, and now his woman. His son, Bolt is a great character. He has not had the best life, but he knows he can count on Blue to be the person he can turn to when needed. I would really love for him to get a story. Blue is drifting. She thought that she made the right decision when she tried to distance herself from the club. She didn’t have the best upbringing either. Always feeling second best to her sister Calla. Always trying to be good enough. After a year, she is now trying to determine what it is she wants for her life. She is a strong character underneath all the layers. She is compassionate, and always trying to do what she thinks is best for others. Shadow and Blue have been dancing around each other for years. When they finally come together, the chemistry is off the charts. Shadow will melt everyone with that dirty mouth of his. I am eagerly waiting for the next book!
