When a surprise snow storm catches them off guard, Bentley and Caroline find themselves in an accident without any possibility of help in their near future. At one point, their love was all they needed to survive. But now, when all they have is each other against the frigid winter storm, will they find the love they lost before it’s too late? The Road Back To Us is an adult novel about second chances. The story revolves around a married couple - Caroline and Bentley - whose marriage is in shambles. Before the divorce is finalized, the couple has to spend Christmas together as their family believes that the couple are still in a happy marriage. Unfortunately, they got caught up in a snow storm on their drive there and have no else to depend on except each other.

The storyline was definitely very interesting and unique. I really appreciated how the story wasn't about falling in love, essentially it's about fighting to keep the love going and strong because it takes effort to maintain a relationship. I liked that the story was about fixing. The author intertwines certain memories from their past into the present and it made connecting with the characters so much easier because you get a better idea on their relationship from when it was just starting out.
However, I did feel like it was a little unfair while reading the book. I've noticed that Bentley is the constant one putting the blame on himself. While it's true that Bentley is hugely responsible, I think that Caroline is also to blame for not speaking up. Other than that, I wish the danger aspect to their lives was more pronounced because I wasn't really on the edge of my seat when things started going against the two. There wasn't really a rush.

Overall, the book was a very sweet and touching story about these two lovely characters. I enjoyed the story a lot because I feel like the essence of a relationship was very protected. Too many times, people tend to give up or stop putting in effort instead of trying to work things out together and communicate. I liked how precious the relationship was in the book.
