ABOUT Rescuing the Bad Boy:

NOT ALL SCARS HEAL

For Donovan Pate, the lake town of Evergreen Cove is a minefield of tough memories—including the day he had to let go of Sofie Martin. Years later, he still can’t forget the taste of her lips and the feel of her killer curves. He knows he’s too damaged, that he should stay away for her own good. But what the head says and the heart wants are two very different things…

Seven years ago, Donovan broke Sofie’s heart. Now her career depends on playing nice in order to pull off the charity fundraiser of the decade. She vows to keep things professional…yet working by his side every day doesn’t make it easy to fight temptation, and it isn’t long before she finds herself falling for this bad boy all over again. But loving Donovan means helping him face his past–so they can fight for a future together.

Where to start... I LOVED Donny & Sofie's story.

This is a book full of feels. Things aren't always what they seem in life & Donny's life is nothing like what people think it was. Now he is forced to come home and deal with his past. But it's not just the horrible childhood he has to reconcile but also the girl who's heart he broke and who broke him.

7 years ago Sofie gave Donny her heart.. and he threw it straight back in her face. Now he is back.

Although these two have a past they are both determined to make the most of here and now. They have a lot to overcome and at the end of the day they both accept they are on limited time and are prepared to walk away at the end.

I love Jessica Lemmons style of writing. She brings the characters to life in a way that has you feeling and believing each word on the page.
You can easily see the character growth from the beginning of the book until the end and it was easy to follow the story all the way through.
The complexity of Donnys character drew me in immediately and the way all sides of his personality were written kept me intrigued and wanting to read more.
The balance between Sofie and Donny was perfect. She had a really soft side but she was able to stand her ground with him when she needed too.

I absolutely loved the story, I loved the characters and I loved the moments that made me feel what the characters were feeling.

This book is definitely worth getting your 1 click finger out and putting it to use!

REVIEW BY: ERIN

This story was hot, passionate, and emotional. Donovan is a strong character. He has been through so much in his life. He feels he is not worthy of love and family. Sophie is a loveable character. She is determined to not be treated so horribly by Donovan again. These two go through a lot together and as Sophie learns more about Donovan’s past, the more she understands his behavior.
The chemistry between Donovan and Sophie is fire starting! These two can’t seem to keep their hands off each other. But they have a deeper connection that each one is trying to figure out how they are going to let go of.
This was a great story and can’t wait to see who will get their HEA next!

REVIEW BY: HEATHER

Seven years ago Sofie made the decision to have one special night with bad boy, Donny, however the night turned out like nothing either of them had planned.
After not being back home in 7 years Donny is forced to come back, face his demons and Sofie. What he didn't expect was for Sofie to be forgiving or for him to do the one thing he has tried so hard not to do....feel.
I really enjoyed this story! The plot line was terrific not your typical bad boy. Donny was my favorite kind of alpha- a broken one. Sofie was a great character who wore her heart on her sleeve but was not a door mat. The secondary characters all enhanced the sorry especially Gertie!
The chemistry between Donny and Sofie was smoking hot! The sexy times.........damn!!
The only thing I would have changed about this book is that I would have rather had it in first person than third person. Overall it was a great read and a wonderful second chances story.
