Lightning Series #2 by Louise Bay ~ BLOG TOUR & REVIEW

WHAT THE LIGHTENING SEES
PART 2
By USA Today Bestselling Author Louise Bay

Adult Contemporary Novella Series
Part Two Release: April 27, 2015

Haven had thought she was wrong about Jake, but apparently she should have trusted her instincts. He wasn’t the man she thought he was. The chink that Jake managed to put in her armor has healed over. She’s shut down and as far as she’s concerned, it’s all business between them from now on.

Thrown together on another assignment, anger, frustration and jealousy are at the forefront of Jake’s emotions. Will Jake convince Haven that he really cares or will he let her go as she insists he must?

What the Lighting Sees - Part Two - is the second part in a three part novella series.

Part Three is out on May 25th and is available for pre-order NOW.

Part One Released: March 31, 2015
Amazon: US | UK | Canada | Australia
Barnes and Noble: US | Nook UK

Jake Harrison is everything that Haven Daniels hates about men: over-confident, born into money and too handsome for his own good. Haven finds it difficult to keep her opinions to herself and can’t help but tell Jake exactly what she thinks of him, again and again.
Haven Daniels is uptight, smart and a bit of a bitch – the perfect challenge for Jake. It doesn’t hurt that she’s movie star beautiful and has no idea.
Forced to work together, verbal sparring turns into sexual chemistry but men like Jake are trouble and Haven has had enough trouble to last her a lifetime.
Will Haven give into Jake’s charms? Can Jake peel off Haven’s prickly mask, revealing the woman he knows lies beneath?

Review by: Cristina

Part 2 continues with the outcome on where Haven Daniels overheard a conversation between Jake Harrison and her boss, Robert regarding the project she was assigned on with Jake but feelings of being more got in the way of following her gut instincts.

Haven is determined to not let Jake get to her after what had happened on the Sandy Fox piece but a new assignment; a Dating Feature, has come up throwing them to work together once again. Can they keep things civil and all work or will their true feelings come to light with it comes to one another and affect the promotion that Haven is seeking to get?

There is so much hesitation when it comes to Haven and Jake’s story. Both holding back but the need for more is harder to stay hidden as they continue to work on the article. The 4 stars read had me wanting them to look beyond their past history and take a chance. But just has things were starting to progress we end with a cliffy that can change everything once again. Why oh why?!?

Review by: Nicole

Sadly I didn't like this book as much as I liked part 1. About 90% of this book is Haven hating Jake and wanting nothing to do with him, but she is forced to work with him again. Jake still cares for Haven but didn't really fight for her. He tried for a few days and just gave up. I felt like he should have fought harder.
I like how we got to know more about Beth, Jakes sister. I like her character and we now know why she has so many issues.
The conflict again happens at the very end, and I was upset that I saw it coming.
But I still love this story, I feel like haven and Jake have their own issues which make them work so prefectly. Jake understand how insecure haven is and helps her through it. I am excited to get part 3 and see how this story ends.

3.5 Stars

About the Author
USA Today Bestselling Author Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind she likes to read. Her books Faithful and Hopeful are stand-alone novels although there are some overlapping characters. Bestselling The Empire State Series of novellas starts with A Week in New York. My next series is What the Lightning Sees.
Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There's not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.
Louise loves the rain, the West Wing, London, days when she doesn’t have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.
She loves to hear from readers so get in touch!
