trustingliam

Synopsis:
From the New York Times bestselling author of Taking Chances, From Ashes, and Stealing Harper, comes the new unforgettable adult romance Molly McAdams’ fans have been waiting for—the sizzling story of a young woman who must place her trust in the one man who can break through her defenses.

A night they will always remember…a connection neither can deny…a secret that could destroy it all…

When Kennedy Ryan moves to California, she never expects to come face-to-face with Liam Taylor—the intriguing man who has haunted her thoughts for a year. A man who led her to breaking every one of her rules for a single night of passion that ended up meaning more than it was ever supposed to. Accustomed to disastrous experiences with men, Kennedy shields herself before he can break down more of the carefully built control she’s clung to for the last four years. But every time she sees Liam, she feels her resolve weakening.

Liam Taylor has been asked to help socialize his boss’s nieces. But what he thinks sounds more like a babysitting job ends up leading him to the only girl who ever slipped away before morning—a girl he thought he’d never find again. And now that she’s within reach, Liam’s determined to never let her go.

But when a secret from her past tests their relationship, will they be able to cling to the trust Liam has worked so hard to build?

I have to say I was worried about this book and how Molly would be able to cross 2 very big books of hers. Well I shouldn’t have been worried. She KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!
You have Liam Chase Taylor From taking chances. Than you have Kenndy  Who is the daughter of Kash and Rachel from Forgiving Lies. Two books that could not have taken you in total different directions. Yet the 2 kids have come together in one EPIC book. I loved this book. I loved how there were surprizes that you didn’t see coming. I also loved how you still had the characters from the books that made us all fall in love with molly.
This book took me back in time to Taking chances while there were things that reminded me of Forgiving lies while it was still a completely different book. This is a book that will have you falling in love with the characters and all over again with Molly.

For the first time ever I did NOT cry while reading a story that Molly McAdams has written. It was quite refreshing. Just because I didn't shed any tears doesn't mean that I did not love it. I did. I was excited about getting more of the characters that we love so much while learning about new ones.
Trusting Liam is the story of Kash and Rachel's twin daughters, Kira and Kennedy, along with Liam, who is Harper and Chase's son. If you've read Taking Chances, then you know that Brandon stepped in to be the father that Liamwould need. Reading about these "kids" all grown up brings the stories full circle. You can't help but love them all. They each are so much like their parents and yet have grown up to be adults with their own lives.
In true Molly McAdams fashion, it wouldn't be a real story without some drama. It wasn't overbearing in any sense. It was just the right amount to keep you on your toes and wondering just which way the story would go.

“You’ll always be Moon to me”….WWHHAAATTT?! Watching this little meeting happen was amazing! Two people, not meant to see each other again, suddenly thrown together is a complete recipe for disaster or happily ever after? I wasn’t so sure of either and that’s is what kept me completely hooked in this book. I read this book as a standalone and did it with ease. It was reminiscent of the others in the series enough to not distract from this story line and flowed perfectly.

Poor Kennedy…not trusting of love and commitment. She was tough as nails and determined which made me like her easily. She had a past that did afford her much in the way of trust, making any relationship in her future seem like temporary was the only option. Boy did she meet her match when a steamy night in Vegas has her wishing she was the long term kind of girl.

Enter tall, dark and oh so handsome Liam…otherwise known as Mr. Vegas. He’s driven and successful and hasn’t stopped thinking about a certain lady he never actually caught the name of. He just remembers her as moon, referring to the tattoo she has on her side. It isn’t until two very separate worlds collide, that Moon and Mr. Vegas meet again.

In true Molly Mc Adams style, this book was cute and an easy read. The story line was easy to follow and captured my attention right away. I was a little timid going into this book as a standalone but I quickly squashed that notion when the book afforded me enough history to carry on. This book had little angst and a lot of spunk! I completely recommend this book as a standalone and I WILL be going back to complete the series ASAP!

First let me start by saying I absolutely loved Taking Chances. It is one of those books that makes you feel. So when I heard a second book in the taking chances series was coming out, I jumped at the chance to read it, even though I really didn't know what the story was going to be about.

We meet Liam Taylor, as in the son of Harper and Chase. We also meet Kennedy Ryan (Kash and Rachel's daughter). Once I started reading and realized the crossover I was super excited to see what the author had it store.

I think my expectations were too high. Molly McAdams had a really great idea not only jumping ahead quite a few years but bringing two of her great books together. I think the storyline could have been so much more than what it was based on the situations everyone was in.

So while I enjoyed the cute love story, I think it kind of fell flat along the way.

Excerpt:
"Trying not to wake him, I slowly slid out from under his arm and off the bed to search for my clothes. Once I was dressed, I told myself to just leave, but I couldn’t help it—I turned to look at him in the light. I needed to be sure I hadn’t made him up. The images from last night tore through my mind again when I saw the large, tattooed arm resting where my body had just been. The muscles were well defined even relaxed, and the face had a boyish charm now that he was asleep. Such a difference from the predatory stare and knowing smirk I kept seeing in my mind. Before I could stop myself, I gently ran my fingers through his dirty-blond hair that, now in the sunlight, I could see had a red tint to it. And I knew if he opened them, those arctic blue eyes would once again captivate me. But I couldn’t risk that. I’d already stayed too long; I’d already made a mistake with him. Drunken one-night stands weren’t my thing. Drunken one-night stands with strangers in Vegas were even worse.
Straightening, I turned and walked quietly from the room."

About the Author:

mollyMolly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry four-legged daughters. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she's not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.
