REVIEW BY: ATALIA

"Where are we going?" I ask as she takes my hand and pulls me to my feet.
"I'm not sure," she says with a shrug. "But does it matter?"
As I look into her eyes, I realize it doesn't.
Nothing really does when I'm with her.

Jessica Sorensen never seizes to amaze me. I guarantee that once you read one of her books, she will become one of your go-to authors because her writing is just that captivating!

Wreck me is one of those books that draws you in from the very first page. While reading, it was hard not to become immersed in the story and want to spend as much time as possible with these characters. What I loved about Wreck Me is how real this story is. The tragic things that occur to the characters can and do occur in real life. These characters can easily be any stranger walking by you on the street. This, is what makes this novel amazing along with the characters themselves.

“I know that the moment I chose to take the first hit, not only did my life standstill, it crumbled, taking whoever I was with it. That my life was never going to be the same again."

Avery is the definition of a survivor. I can’t explain how much I love this girl. She is strong willed, kind, loving and has such an immense strength. Life has not been so kind  to her but yet she keeps moving forward for her loved ones. Every decision she makes is done for the benefit of them. Since childhood, she’s fought to survive each day longing for a time when she could finally leave it all behind. And when that moment presents itself, he life changes but not for the best. Her dream of freedom became a nightmare. From this nightmare came two good things: her son Mason & Tristan.

"When I'm sober, life is harder than when I'm high. When I'm sober, I feel more alone than when I'm high. When I'm sober, I feel lost."

Tristan is the definition of damaged. All he’s ever wanted was to be loved and accepted as he is. Growing up all he ever heard was that he wasn’t good enough. An outsider. If his own mother didn’t like him, who would? In order to dismiss painful remarks and forget his less than loving home, he turned to drugs. Drugs became his family, his friends, his lovers. Always there when he needed them. After a couple of close calls, he finally starts turning his life around. Every day is a struggle. The pull is strong but his love for Quinton, Nova, and Avery is stronger. He no longer has to seek drugs to escape, he has a new one, Avery.

Wreck me will wreck you in the most amazing way. The feelings it provokes while reading, make it an unforgettable experience. This novel would be a great introduction to Jessica Sorensen for those who haven’t a read a book of hers yet. And a new favorite for fans of Jessica!
