Synopsis:

EMILY MICHAELS ~ Have you ever felt like you didn’t belong? Like you never fit in, or you weren’t good enough? This is how I have felt for as long as I can remember.
I see the world differently than everyone else, I feel everything differently and I reflect on life differently. And being different in my world is not a good thing.

I live in a place that’s divided between the rich and the poor, the beautiful and the unbeautiful, the prestigious and the mediocre. I have always belonged in the first category, because my father was the Governor of Georgia.

Growing up around people I could never relate with, my life had always been lonely, that was until my senior year when I met the one boy who would change my life forever. A boy who my parents would never approve of because he didn’t come from money or the same social class. He rode a motorcycle, had tattoos and was considered to be from the wrong side of the tracks. Yet he was still envied by many.

Ryder Jameson was someone who every guy feared, and one who every girl wanted to be touched by. He didn’t do attachments, or have friends... until me. And for the first time in my life I finally felt like I belonged. When I was with him, my different didn’t feel wrong or ugly. He made me feel beautiful- insightfully beautiful. Then one day my world came crashing down on me, and it would be six years before I'd once again see the boy I fell in love with.

RYDER JAMESON ~ After working my ass off I am given the opportunity of a lifetime, and if I pull it off I will be the youngest FBI agent to run one of the biggest undercover operations in history. Only the case that gets thrown in front of me leads me back to the one place I swore I would never return to, and to the only girl who’s ever mattered to me.

Except Emily Michaels is not the same girl I left behind. She still looks the same, she’s still beautiful inside and out, but there’s one thing that’s very different about her, one very big thing, and it’s something I didn’t think was possible.

Ryder and I come from a world where politics separates us and wealth defines us, but even after all this time we will not let it divide us.
Here is our story.

Review by Heather

KC Lynn has done it again- yes she made me cry and she gave me two new book boyfriends to swoon over.

Beautifully Insightful is the story of Emily and Ryder. Emily comes from a prestigious, wealthy and very powerful family where Ryder comes from the complete opposite- poor and his family does not have the best relationship and frankly neither does Ryder. Emily’s parents are vial people and her mother is always putting her down and trying to hard to turn Emily into someone she is not. When Emily convinces them  to allow her to finish high school at public school, Emily gets into a situation with a classmate and Ryder saves her. The two of them start a beautiful journey together of young love and many firsts. Ryder, besides Emily’s best friend Cece, is the only person who allows Emily to just be Emily. The bond and the connection between them become so strong they can’t hide their feelings for very long. When Emily’s father hears of this relationship, to say he is not happy is an understatement. Ryder disappears leaving Emily alone and to wonder what the hell happened.

The story time jumps to years later when Ryder returns to his home town for work and seeks out Emily not only because he needs her help but because he never stopped thinking about her. Emily is hurt and just wants to know why he left.  The two start on a different journey one of healing and painful revelations but can Emily’s heart survive reliving the pain of the past?
First I have to say that normally I am not a fan of the time jump. In this book it was done so well will very little blanks. A lot of times with a time jump I feel like I missed something and this is not the case with this book. Through dialogue you get to see where both characters have been and the key things that happened to them while they were apart.

Second, the entire book is unbelievably amazing. The subject matter is not an easy one to read and it was done so tastefully. The twists and turns were just AHHHH I can’t even describe them and yes I yelled at WHAT?! to my kindle more than once. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and may have blown up KC’s message box while reading.  There are so many twists and turns in this book it is so hard to put down so when you read it have your kindle with you wherever you go.

Third, the characters are just wonderful! KC has mastered the alpha male with her Men of Honor series but Ryder is an entirely differently breed.  Ryder is the entire package- total alpha and total teddy bear all rolled into one. Sure he is hot as hell, but what I really loved about him was that he owned his mistakes pretty much upfront and he did not put on a macho front of his feelings for Emily. Emily is such a breath of fresh air so genuine yet so confident in her convictions. Her struggles are not the normal struggles we usually see in romance novels and I really enjoyed her. I loved how independent she was yet at times she needed to be dependent. The way she felt about those times really spoke from the pages of this book. KC’s book girlfriends are always someone I can see myself being friends with in real life but Emily takes the cake on that.  The chemistry between Ryder and Emily is explosive.  The sex is hot and the sweet moments definitely give you a fuzzy feeling in your belly.

As always, KC’s secondary characters are just as likeable (well the good guys anyway) as the main characters. I loved Emily’s best friend Cece. How she tried to conform to the world she lived in yet be her own person at the same time and the balance she had between the two was really fun to read and I want her purses HA! Nick, Ryder’s best friend, well there is only one word to describe him- MINE!!!! I finally have dibsed a KC character without getting my head chewed off by one of her ladies of honor (kidding) and Nick is it! He really balances Ryder out and is very genuine but what drew me in was his humor. He literally made me laugh out loud.

Finally, the writing.  It is flawless. The entire book just flows beautifully and the words in this book are so powerful and full of heart. She made me laugh, cry, swoon and gasp multiple of times I really enjoyed everything  about his book.  In my opinion, Beautifully Insightful is KC’s best work to date!
KC’s books always leave me with a message and something to think about and this book really resonated with me on many level. I give this book 5-be true to yourself-stars!

Author Q&A
An interview by reviewer Heather

How the story line for Beautifully Insightful come about?

I am asked this question often with all of my story lines. I don't know I just do. Lol! For Beautiful Insightful, however, I always had Emily's father to be a dirty politician. Although I didn't quite know which avenue his character would follow. It was thanks to my father, who was an RCMP for 30 days, and a man I was lucky enough to meet, who used to be a government intel, that told me about this story and sent me a video with a very similar story line, where a dirty politician ran a sex trafficking ring. But I did switch the odd things around because I didn't want this to be a true story. I have come to learn that the topics I write about are VERY REAL, and sex trafficking is a cause I have become very passionate about bringing awareness to. It is happening in our world every day and it's only getting worse.

What are the messages you are hoping that the readers take away with this book?

With all the books that I write, I always hope to convey a powerful message. Beautifully Insightful has one of the most powerful I will ever hope to convey. I once read this quote and it was a huge inspiration of this book and it goes like this: We are all humans until race disconnected us, religion separated us, politics divided us and wealth classified us.

Our worlds can be very divided, whether in school and you get judged for the brand of clothes you wear or how much money you have, or even down to the car you drive. this is why I loved writing Emily as I did. It showed how insightful she was, because she never saw people like that. She saw their hearts and souls. I do believe the world would be a whole lot better if more people saw each other like this. Love with you heart, not with your eyes.

Emily is such a strong and independent character who is some ways needs to be dependent on others- is she based of anyone from your life and was she a hard character to write?

I  have loved every female character I've ever written, but Emily will hold a special place in my heart. I loved writing her, and no, she isn't from anyone in my life. To be honest, I am shocked how easy it was to write her. I connected with her in ways I never connected with another. She has such a beautiful heart and I really felt her. I don't know - it's hard to explain without sounding like a lunatic. Lol!

Beautifully Insightful is a fast paced high action yet extremely emotional book. During your writing process, without giving anything away, what were those moments like for you as you were writing them?

When I write I am completely engrossed into my stories and characters. All the parts that you read and your heart raced, mind did too. Where you cried, I did too. where you laughter, I also did. I think, as a writer, if you don't fell all those emotions then your readers won't either.

You have such a knack for writing completely swoon worthy alpha males and Ryder is no different in that sense from those delicious Men of Honor. In what ways do you think Ryder is similar to them and in what ways do you think he is different?

Well first off, thank you for the compliment about my Men. I adore them all too. Lol!

Ryder is very much like my Men Of Honor. He is a dirty talker, possessive alpha male, but, most importantly, a man of Honor. I really think the only way he differs from my Men of Honor is that his job is little different than theirs, but no less important. He fights for his country and the people in it.

Out of all the couples you have written so far which one is closest to your heart?

Girl, are you for real? I cannot answer this. Lol! Seriously, I can't. Each couple hods a special place in my heart, and for all different reasons. I went through so much with ever couple I wrote about. I just can't say that one has left more of a mark than others, but they definitely all taught me something about life.

What is next in the world of books by KC Lynn?

I am so excited for what the future hold. I will be working on two series this year. Acts of Honor will be a spin-off series for my Men Of Honor.  It will consist of all the side characters that my readers have asked for, and we will be delving deeply into some tough topics. I also have high hopes in starting another series, a firefighter one called Men Of Courage. I can't wait to get started on both of these and show the struggles and triumphs of our heroes.

And can you please tell the world that I have dibs on Nick?
Everyone, Heather has dibs on Nick... Well, when he isn't with Katelyn. Lol!

Sexy time with Ryder and Emily

“Stop thinking, only feel, baby.”
I follow his command, and push his open dress shirt down his arms then pull up the T-shirt he wears underneath. “Take this off so I can feel you against me.” He sheds himself of the shirt within seconds then pulls me in close, wrapping me in his strong embrace. Electricity shoots through my entire body, and all the oxygen flees from my lungs.

“Damn, you have the softest skin I’ve ever felt,” he mumbles, burying his face into my neck.

We do nothing for a moment but hold each other, feeling a connection that I know I will never feel with anyone else. I’ve tried, god I have tried to move on, but I couldn’t. I thought it was because I had no closure, but now that he’s back I know that isn’t the case. It’s because he still holds so much of my damaged heart.

Ryder pries my knees apart from his hips before running his hands up the inside of my thighs. I moan, my body trembling in anticipation for what’s to come. He reaches my panty line then gently runs a knuckle down the center of my wet panties, causing slight shock waves to travel through my body. I gasp and he groans. “Fuck me, you are soaked.”

My response is another moan as I thrust my hips toward his touch, craving more pressure. “Ryder, please,” I plead breathlessly.

“Don’t worry, baby, I got you.” He pushes my panties aside and runs two fingers through my wet flesh, skimming over my swollen clit before inserting a single finger inside of me.

“Oh god!” I cry out at the sweet invasion.

His groan is guttural. “Oh fuck, your pussy is as hot and tight as I remember it.” He begins pumping his finger in and out of me. “Look, baby. Look between us, watch what my finger is doing to your sweet pussy.” I glance between our bodies, and the erotic sight has my inner walls clamping down around his finger. The need for release becomes so fierce, so overwhelming, that I feel like my body is about to combust.
