I take a deep shuddering breath, close my eyes and stretch my hand towards him. His touch is gentle this time, far more gentle than I’d ever thought someone with so much uncontained violence to him could be.
“Spread your fingers,” he commands. I do, and he lifts the roll of tape, presses the edge to my skin and begins winding it over my knuckles. I close my eyes. The strident sound of it stretching out from the roll makes me want to flee. It makes me want to run as far from his touch—from any man’s touch—as I can possibly get.
The feel of the tape against my flesh, binding, holding, is so much worse. I tug on my hand, but he won’t let go. My heartrate skyrockets, and sweat beads erupt over my brow and upper lip. I’m in that room again, struggling, screaming, trying to fight them off, and failing.
Biker knows it, too. His dark eyes challenge, they dare me to run, but they also implore me to stay. It’s ironic that the only thing keeping me here, keeping me grounded, is the man who abducted me.
He holds my gaze. I don’t know exactly what is hidden in his dark blue one, but it suffocates the panic within me, douses it like water flooding flames. He bends his head to my hand. Taking the paper tape in his mouth, he rips it with his teeth.
I still. I soften. His gaze doesn’t leave mine, not even once. Not even when he starts in on my wrist, gently biting through each piece of tape before pressing it down with his rough hands. I’m mesmerised by his mouth, the piercing, and the soft, full lips. The light catches a silver chain around his neck, something I’ve never noticed before—but then I try not to make a habit of staring too closely at him. Not now, though. Now I watch every twitch, every blink, every intake of breath, and every inch that is swallowed up by his mouth moving closer to my flesh.

Um. .. just wow..
At the begining of this book the author has written a message, more of a warning really about what to expect with this story.
After reading Kick I can see why. This is not everyone especially cup of tea, but it sure was mine.
The content is raw, brutal, at times horrific but my god does it make you feel. I felt fear, betrayal, horror, distressed and hope. Hope that Indie could survive what was done to her and hope that Kick could move away from the horror of his past.
I loved that this story was based in Sydney so I was familiar with the places mentioned!
This story probably gives a more realistic idea of what like in an Aussie MC club is really like as opposed to some of the MC stories that come across like it is all rainbows and sunshine. I'm no expert but I would guess this paints a picture that is closer to the truth.
Kick is not for the lighthearted, it will take every emotion you think you have felt and turn it up on its head.
If you want to read a story about two people that have been torn down and ripped to shreds over and over and see how they come back from that and dare to look towards some sort of future where they decide they want to not just survive, but have a life rather than die, then check this book out.
You , a be suprise or shocked at the content in this book, but you sure as hell, won't be disappointed you read it.

HOLY FREAK’N WOW!! This book was
amazing!!!! I am not quite sure what my expectation was since Carmen had to put
a “warning” label on it, but the book was simply stunning. It was brash, rough
and then soft and sensual. The MC life isn’t all sunshine and roses but somehow
she was able to capture the humanity within the biker lifestyle. This book had
such a magnificent flow I had no choice but to plow right through it!!
Kick…OH MY GOD!!! That man was amazing. The
depth of his character was so unreal. I felt nothing but brash “typical biker”
for him until one word…”Daniel”! He was every bit human and complex the minute
his name was used. “Stop. Fucking. Struggling”….and when she did it all
clicked. Oh and to hear Kayla call him Biker…her biker, was MAGIC because at
that moment he was real to her. All the crap and nasty she was living was gone
because he was her truth and her reality.
The Savage Saints…a bunch of truly messed
up individuals with a butt load of problems. It was hard to find the love here
with this group!!! I swear I want to throw my kindle at the wall a couple of
times reading through their HARSH behavior. I mean ugly nasty brutal disregard
for life….and yet I couldn’t believe how by the end of the book I actually felt
some honest “like” for the men. Just like Kick became human, so did they.
This story was nothing but complex and
angst all rolled up into a neat package. It was powerful and tested my limits
as a reader from the very beginning. There was no sugar coating the lifestyle
which I 100% appreciated and admired. Even though some parts were demanding of
my inner vigor, Carmen delivered a truly beautiful story.
I RECOMMEND every ounce of this book. It
will test you and grab you by the lady balls but it is every bit worth the
ride. From the moment you feel the sweat bead up on Kick’s brow you will be
hooked! Enjoy every minute and be grateful you one clicked this bad boy!!! 5
STARS all the way.

Carmen Jenner
