Blurb
I've broken him, bent him, and burned him, and each fevered moment was worth every ounce of pain. Auburn Lawrence has loved her English teacher, Reed West, since she was fourteen. Through brainstorming stories, reading classic literature, and plenty of fiery banter, they've forged a bond that neither of them expected. Propelled by a chance encounter after her graduation, they discover just how deep their connection runs, but love requires more than chemistry to flourish. They spend three electrifying summer months discovering each other under a veil of forbidden passion and desperate lust before they learn that the unattainable is often destined to remain exactly that. By the time temperatures dip and snowflakes fly, their relationship will face a deep freeze that threatens to snap the bond they thought they shared, shattering their lives one secret at a time. Intended for mature audiences.

Review by Amy

“I burn for you. Auburn. You’re my beautiful burn”….HO-LEEE smokes that is the ultimate synopsis for this whole book. A love that stands the test of time & events and burns forward. Although the taboo of this book’s theme had me slightly wary, I really enjoyed the deep level of stay with me…wait for me that controlled the story. Adriane Leigh was flawless at taking me into the world of these two literary loves and making me feel everything they had to give.

Miss. Lawrence and Mr. West vs. Auburn and Reed…these two gutted me with their long lost passion for life, love and humanity. Their love for the literary world had me screaming YES! “My mind snapped back to memories of just the two of us and afternoons spent in hushed conversations after class about reading and writing books”… SWOON!!! They shared so much in the space of time together, that I felt every breath he took for her. They literally had a connection most people dream and die for and they just breathed and it was there.

“She was predictably unpredictable and just when I thought I had her pegged, she turned my stereotype upside down”. I loved this quote because it summed up the book for me. I really had the book “figured” out in my head but the angst and twists that happened knocked me on my ass. That’s what makes a great story! This book was a definite surprise for me. It left me swooning and longing  for more. The epilogue just about killed me and left me crying like a baby!!! Fantastic job Adriane Leigh! I recommend this book to readers who love the idea of a burning love. Definitely 4 star read! I will 100% be reading more form this author!!

Review by Cristina

Auburn Lawrence was in West Reed’s English class in high school where they had gotten to know each other but nothing more progressed but a student/teacher relationship. Auburn and West crossed paths 3 years later in a summer class that he was teaching. As they get reacquainted feelings resurfaces but the technicalities of being together is a risk that they have to consider.

This was more than another love story. It gave you an overall perspective of their situation and whether to finally give into their feelings was worth it. Feeling the intensity between the characters was inevitable but what drew me in were the emotional sides of their story. A 4.5 stars rating to this forbidden student/teacher romance with an ending I surely was not expecting that had me teary eyed! A poetic and heartwarming read that book lovers should pick up today!
