Stripped Bare by Heidi McLaughlin FMR REVIEW

ABOUT: Stripped Bare

They don’t call it the Strip for nothing. . . .

In this sinfully sexy Las Vegas romance from bestselling author Heidi McLaughlin, a man who has it all reunites with a woman who takes it all off.

Living in Sin City, Finn McCormick is no stranger to one-night stands, but the last person he expects to find losing big on the casino floor is a former high school fling. Even though Macey Webster’s clearly down on her luck, she’s still a knockout, and she’s dressed like a stripper—because she is one. Drunk off an unfamiliar cocktail of lust, pity, and compassion, Finn offers to pay Macey’s debts if she cuddles up to him around town . . . and does whatever he wants between the sheets.

Macey came to Vegas for one reason only: money. She’s got a young daughter to support, and the tips really are bigger in Vegas. But when she blows her earnings on blackjack, her guardian angel is the rich boy who once stole her heart and never called her back. Although Macey would love to turn the tables on Finn, she can’t afford to refuse his proposition—and soon she’s enjoying herself much more than she cares to admit. Macey’s used to baring her flesh, but baring her soul will take far more courage.

Review by: Tatia

The first thing that came to kind while reading was that this is a modern day Pretty Woman. It had all of the elements that made me fall in love with the movie. The girl struggling to make ends meet, doing whatever it takes to make it one month to the next. One single proposition that has the ability to change everything.

Macey is a single mother. She's doing what she has to in order to make sure her daughter has food. Her one wish is that she'd be able to get them away from her alcoholic mother and somewhere safer. She gets told that one week in Vegas could make all of her dreams come true. She didn't count on running into HIM.
Finn has come a long way. He didn't grow up on the wrong side of the tracks or wanting for anything. But he still did what he had to in order to succeed on his own. When he runs into a familiar face at his casino one night, his mouth gets away from him and before he knows it, is propositioning her to spend one week with him. Be his plus one and warm his bed at night. We know how these things usually go...

Heidi McLaughlin did a wonderful job telling the modern day telling of this story. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. I'd been in a sort of funk, life was throwing one thing after another at me. This book provided the escape that was needed at the perfect time. Like with just about every fantastic book that I read, I want more of Macey and Finn, and even Morgan- Macey's daughter. This story isn't as cut and dry though. There are a few twists and turns that will leave you with your mouth hanging open. Get ready! It's a wonderful book that you're sure to love.

4.5 Stars
