About Written On My Heart:

It's been six months since Ashlyn Daniels was kicked out of her home. Six months since she stood up to her abusive stepfather and got a busted rib—and seeing all her things set ablaze in a backyard bonfire—for her trouble.Never going back. She doesn't need trouble...especially if trouble is tattoo artist Lane Garrett, who's six-feet-plus of tattooed hotness and a complete ass.

Lane has spent the last decade fighting to support his family. To protect them. There's no room for romance, even with a fragile (yet amusingly feisty) stunner...even if she somehow manages to invade his world and his heart.

But while some secrets are as visible as ink on the skin, others must remain hidden at all costs...

Wow this book had an amazing story to tell!!!!!!!!!!! The message I   got was that you can make a good life for yourself no what life has thrown at you.  Ashlyn was a strong beautiful woman that survived unbelievable events and nasty people in her life.  She is a survivor that beat the odds.  Lane was another wonderful person that took life by horns and did what he needed to do it!!!!! This book was not only emotionally heart wreching, tear worthy BUT hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I I could not read this in public because I am sure I was blushing reading particular parts of this story.  Again, Cole Gibson your wrote an awesome story that obviously came from your heart and soul.  This book gets 5++++ for the characters and just a great story that says, "I will survive so hold on for the ride of your life".

This is one of those books that you think will be like a lot of others out there. Damaged girl meets a cocky guy who isn't interested. Commence the non-stop, sarcastic dialogue which is really just hiding the attraction they both have. In some ways, that is what this story was, but it was also so much more.
Ashlyn is a strong, independent woman, but not by choice. She didn't choose the rough life she's had or to struggle just to support herself, but she's making the best of what she has. She's never known what real love feels like or what true friends really are, but she's learning about those things along the way.
The cocky, brooding, tattooed male is Lane. He has his priorities: his business and family. He doesn't have time to mess around with drama-loving women. With enough on his plate already, he doesn't have time to try to settle down.
I did not expect the emotional connection that I had to this story. There were time that tears appeared before I even realized it. Cole Gibson gives us so much more than just the standard love story. It's a sweet story about healing, growth, and change that leaves you thinking about it for many moments after you turn the last page.

It's been about 6 months Ashlyn Daniels left home. Well she didn't exactly leave as much as she was thrown out. Needless to say she didn't have an easy life. After she was thrown out she was forced to live in her car until she was able to find a roommate, who ended up being a roommate from hell.

She meets Lane. The heart as ice as@hole tattoo artist. Lane has spent several years making a life for himself and his family. The last thing he needs is someone like Ashlyn whose life is in pieces.

Isn't that what they say though, the person who is right for you might seem like the one who is completely wrong? Or is that just something I tell myself?? I felt bad for Ashlyn, she really did have a shitty life. I fell for Lane, because who doesn't like a tall, hot and tattooed man?!

Written on my Heart was a good read. It showed that no matter what life hands you there will always be someone there to make it better. Maybe not at first but things will get better. All you have to do is let others in and hope for the best.

Written on my Heart is a dark new adult contemporary following two characters that has been dealt with a few bad cards in life. Ashlyn and Lane are two troubled and broken young adults, especially Ashlyn. Growing up in an abusive home caused her to have a panic attack whenever there is a mess. One of the reasons I admire her isn't just because of her strength but her kindness. This young and tortured soul who believes she's a mess has so much love to give to others, no matter how much she disapproves.

On the other hand, we have Lane who has been giving so much love and protection to his family because of his past, yet he doesn't realise how lonely he has become. He doesn't allow himself to be reckless and free and young because his responsibility towards his family is his only priority. Which is really captivating, but sad too. One of the nicest things was seeing these two characters meeting and slowly, connecting. It wasn't easy but I enjoyed seeing their progress.

The plot was engaging from the beginning. The struggle Ashlyn had emotionally was so powerful that it made me tear up. The characters were lovely, including the side characters. Emily and Harper are such sweethearts. However, I did find that some of the later parts of the book felt a little rush. It felt like some of the problems wrapped up a little too quickly. The ending felt a little mismatched in my opinion. Overall, a really great read.
