CHAOS by Jamie Shaw BLOG TOUR & REVIEW

Chaos
Mayhem #3
By: Jamie Shaw
Releasing July 21, 2015
Avon Impulse

Blurb

From the moment she saw Shawn Scarlett perform at a school talent show, Kit Larson has loved two things: the guitar, and the gorgeous, green-eyed boy who inspired her to play. But one careless night in high school shatters her hope of ever being more than a notch on his bedpost.

Six years, two bands, and one mostly-mended heart later, Kit’s about to make her rock star dreams a reality as the new guitarist for Shawn’s band, The Last Ones to Know. He may not remember their reckless night together, but Kit has never forgotten… and she’s determined to make him eat his heart out.

The release of their new album means a month cooped up on a tour bus, sleeping inches away from the ridiculously sexy musician she’s never quite gotten over. And as Kit gets to know the real Shawn—not Shawn Scarlett, the rock god, the player—their attraction becomes too hot to resist. But the past is paved with secrets, and when they finally surface, Kit could lose everything: the band, the music, her dreams… and Shawn.

Where do I begin...CHAOS WAS FREAKING AMAZING!!! Each book, I learn more about the characters and love them even more! I seriously just want to crawl inside the book and hang out with the member of The Last Ones To Know!!!

A hero in a book is only as strong as his heroine counterpart and Kit was amazing!!! Kit and Shawn have a lot of history and when they re-united, there was a lot of pent up resentment, misunderstandings, and feelings. If they would have just got it all out in the open from the beginning, we wouldn't have the pleasure of reading such an awesome story! Some may say that Kit was a whiner or over-dramatic, when dealing with Shawn, but I think back on my own personal experiences and I have to say I did the same things as her. Always second guessing yourself or over thinking situations and feelings. And that right there made Kit REAL and that is the best feeling when you can read about a character and relate. Brilliant job, Jamie!

While Chaos can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Mayhem and Riot. They are also books that will not disappoint. All the characters are interconnected throughout the books and I love reading about all of them. I am looking forward to the next book! I have a feeling Mike's story will be EPIC!

WHERE DO I START WITH THIS REVIEW????? I seriously can't even think straight! I just want to climb inside my kindle, and live in this HOLY HOT ROCKER WORLD  Jamie Shaw has created, wearing one of Dee's designs, listening to the music these guys write in Adam's apartment, eating Pizza with Peach, fangirling at my husband (which is Joel if any of you readers are not aware....HE IS MINE), become best friends with Kit, and watch Shawn fall head over heels in love with the little firecracker!!! SERIOUSLY, Jamie Shaw..... YOU HAVE GOT TO QUIT BRINGING HOT ROCKERS TO THE TABLE! My ovaries just can't take it!

This is book three in the Mayhem Series, it was one of my most anticipated books of the year, and I loved every damn second of it! This is Kit and Shawn's story and it takes you right back to the past events revealing the history these two characters have.

Kit was expressed and written with excellent detail, the correct maturity for her age in the past to the present twenty one year old and she was an absolute joy to read! One thing I loved about her, she was so FIERCE! Giving Shawn and the rest of the guys a run for their money! Her humour made me laugh out loud especially her ZERO-FILTER which made her a girl after my own heart. Her tender moments made my heart burst emotion and I really felt every single thing she brought to the story!

Shawn Scarlett....HELL TO THE YES!!! A sexy name for one helluva gorgeous, green eyed, kind, HOT, SWOOOOOOOONY ROCK STAR! This man made me FEEL. And as an avid reader that is something I chase books for, those moments that make you live the journey with the characters. He seems to be the protector of the band, always making sure the guys are ok, always making sure he puts others before him and that alone made me completely adore him!

Another character shout out to Kit's brothers, who's overprotectiveness was hysterical and just so well written. And not forgetting Leti, that guy is HI-FREAKING-LARIOUS! I laughed out so loud at one scene, scared the shit out of my cat, who then jumped onto my lounge curtains curtains and clawed the things down! That guy is SO FREAKING FUNNY and I wish he was my best friend!

Jamie Shaw, your words, the heart you put into bringing this story, the world you have created, the characters, the EVERYTHING, is just nothing short of absolutely OUTSTANDING! Your writing style is so capturing, you write with the perfect depth and bring these characters to life making them memorable, relatable and and all around bloody magnificent! This book rocked my world, this series is one of my top five series of all time and I seriously cannot wait for more!

                                                                           5+++ STARS!!!

Every story, I read the author's dedication at the beginning of the book. The dedication in this book is great. So, I think at the end of the story the should throw out the question "I'd u fall for.....?". I'm not telling names that would give it away.

This story was really good.  It was easy to read not having to figure out all the connections between the characters or why this person did this or that.  This book was good from beginning to end.  I love the character named "Kit" who has the guts of 10 men.   Kit knew exactly what she wanted in life and was going to get it no matter what.  To hell with her numerous alpha brothers thinking they were going to stop her from getting what she wanted to do.  I would have loved to have some of Kit's sense of boldness growing up.  It takes a lot to be the youngest child. Then again, I didn't have a gazillion older brothers to protect me from young love and what could life be altering changes to my life.  I gave this story a whopping number 5 out 5.

Excerpt
During the seconds that tick away between my knock and the door opening, I think about grabbing my guitar case from where it’s propped against the wall and hightailing it back to my Jeep. I think about who will open the door. I think about Kale and wonder what in the hell I’m doing.
But then the door is swinging open and I’m stuck on the threshold of a decision that could make my life or ruin it.
Long dark chocolate hair. Fierce brown eyes. A piercing gaze that smacks me right in the face. The girl—who I’m guessing is the one who responded to my email and signed her name “Dee”—trails her eyes all the way down to my boots and then back up again. “The band isn’t here to sign shit or take pictures,” she says.
Apparently, I’ve offended her just by breathing. “Okay?” My eyebrow lifts from the sheer gust of hostility she throws at me, and I resist the urge to glance over my shoulder to make sure I’m in the right place. “I’m not here for autographs or pictures . . .”
“Great.” She begins closing the door in my face, but I slap my hand against it before she can shut me out.
“Are you Dee?” I ask, and the girl’s glare hardens with either recognition or irritation. Maybe both. She’s so focused on trying to murder me with her eyes that she doesn’t even notice when a blonde-haired girl pops up behind her. With nothing to lose, I wedge my combat boot against the door and hold out my hand. “I’m Kit. We spoke over email?”
You’re Kit?” the blonde asks, and the brown-haired girl that I’m assuming is Dee slowly offers up her hand.
“Oh, sorry,” I say with an apologetic laugh, realizing why the girls are acting like I’m some kind of groupie. Probably because I look like one, with my barely-there top and my spider-leg mascara. “Yeah. I have four older brothers who thought Katrina was too girly of a name.”
The running joke is that I didn’t even know my name was Katrina until grade school—but it isn’t a joke, because I’m pretty sure I really didn’t. The boys boycotted the name my mom had insisted on, and eventually she gave up the good fight. It was Kit from the day I was born, and the only people who call me Katrina are people who don’t really know me.
“And you’re here to audition?” the blonde asks.
I pull my guitar case from where it’s propped against the wall and give them a big smile. “I hope so. It is okay that I’m a girl, right?”
“Yeah,” the blonde rushes to say, but Dee still has her eyes narrowed with skepticism.
Having been the only girl in an all-guy band in college, I’m used to it, so I’m not surprised when she says, “That depends . . . Are you a girl who can play the guitar?”
“I think so,” I deadpan. “I mean, it’s difficult since my vagina is constantly getting in the way, but I’ve learned to manage it just like any other handicap.” I pause for dramatic effect, my expression somber when I add, “Sadly, I don’t get special parking.”
A long moment of silence passes where I’m sure my brand of humor is lost on the two chicks in front of me, but then Dee bursts out laughing and they both lead me inside.
