REVIEW BY: Fidah

Too Many Reasons is the second book in the Spotlight series. It can be read as a standalone as we follow two different characters in each book. However, you could be spoiled if you do not read them in order.

I have a mixed feeling regarding this book. Call it a love-hate relationship if you will. I love the relationship between the two main characters. I've read a ton of best friends to lovers books and not many have met my expectation. This book has definitely done it. I appreciated the development as the story progressed. Additionally, I loved the amount of support and determination Abby and Devon had for each other. They weren't trying to figure out their relationship but career as well.

However, there were bits that annoyed me. There is a minor love triangle but it doesn't play a huge role in the book. Although I knew that relationship was bound to fail from the beginning. Another issue that rubbed me the wrong way was Abby's insecurity. Despite the members compliments, she was uncertain and unsure about her capabilities as a manager. She's done it for quite some time. I expected her to get over it quicker than she did in the book. Nonetheless, I liked the ending and how it all resolved, too well I might add.

All in all, this was a rather decent book with great developments in the characters. Not the best new adult contemporary I've read, but I still enjoyed it.

3 Stars
