THE HIDDEN LIBRARY by Heather Lyons ~ RELEASE DAY BLITZ & REVIEW

ABOUT THE HIDDEN LIBRARY:

Sometimes, the rabbit hole is deeper than expected . . .

Alice Reeve and Finn Van Brunt have tumbled into a life of secrets. Some secrets they share, such as their employment by the clandestine organization known as The Collectors’ Society. Other secrets they carry within them, fighting to keep buried the things that could change everything they think they know.

On the hunt for an elusive villain who is hell-bent on destroying legacies, Alice, Finn, and the rest of the Society are desperate to unravel the mysteries surrounding them. But the farther they spiral down this rabbit hole, the deeper they fall into secrets that will test their loyalties and pit them against enemies both new and old.

Secrets, they come to find, can reveal the deadliest of truths.

Don’t miss the first book in this series, THE COLLECTORS’ SOCIETY!

Review by: Ashley

Before I got this ARC, I had purchased The Collectors’ Society (book one of this series) but I hadn’t read it yet.  So, I was lucky enough to get to go straight from book one into book two, and it was awesome!  But then when I got to the end of The Hidden Library I was like: Heather Lyons, HOW can you leave me HANGING like that?!?!?!
I need the next one, NOW! Please?

I honestly don’t know where the ideas for these novels came from, but it is inspired, and should be considered a classic for the new adult genre.  The different characters from different children’s stories brought into adulthood, forming relationships with characters from other book…it’s fantastic!

I LOVE that this book was told in dual point of view: Alice and Finn.  It was perfect for the story line, and it really gave us more insight into how Finn feels about Alice, as well as other characters in the story.  I also feel it added to the intimacy between Alice and Finn.  Although this one isn’t scorching hot, it is definitely swoon-worthy!

This story had me on my toes for most of the book.  I couldn’t figure out why Finn was so upset with Tom Sawyer that he never wanted to speak to him again.  But man, when they are finally in the same space as each other…you’ll learn real quick what he’s so angry about, and it’s totally grudge worthy.  And Alice, she just keeps growing stronger and stronger in the new role she has found herself in.  They are still trying to catch up with whomever is editing into timelines, and destroying catalysts.  And although some questions are answered in The Hidden Library, others are brought to light.

All in all, this is a fantastic series, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one! (Because I might go INSANE wondering what happens after that cliffie if I don’t read it ASAP!)

Excerpt

He did not give up on me, even when I warned him he could die in Wonderland. He came with me anyway. I will not give up on him, either.
Finn murmurs, “It won’t be pretty.”
“I imagine you thought the same thing of Wonderland, especially when witnessing an orgy and a vicious attack, all within the span of a pair of hours. Not to mention you were attacked yourself, with SleepMist.” An event that still eats at me.
A breath of amusement escapes him. Yet still, he has not rejected my statement. Several more minutes crawl by in the elegant silence of the ballroom. And then he says, “Okay.”
I shift my head to run my nose the length of his jawline and then back up to place another kiss where the previous lay before. “I was afraid I was going to have to bully you into seeing the wisdom of my plan.”
“You, bully? Never.
It’s my turn to release a ghost of a laugh.
“Also, what plan?”
“It’s not really my plan, per se. I believe it was yours. I’m just co-opting it.”
“Listen to you, sounding all Twenty-First Century with your co-opting threats.”
I reach up my free hand to pat his face. “Nonetheless, my point stands.”
“What was my plan, then?”
“You told me two are always stronger than one.”
