Marley is an adult contemporary romance. It contains content suitable only for grownups with an open mind. There are scenes of group sex which include m/f/m a little bit of f/m/m and even some f/f/f/m/m/f/f/f. There is drinking and drug taking involved. A lot of swearing, some Essex slang and some very high emotion. Please don’t complain after reading this book that you weren't warned.

And yes, of course you’ll need tissues.

It's no secret over here at FMR Book Grind just how much I ADORE this author! Lesley Jones wrote one of top reads of 2014, 'Carnage'! A read that ripped my heart from my chest, chewed it up, spat it out and just WRECKED ME for approximately TWO MONTHS!!!! I couldn't read another book, the story just played over and over again in my head, the feels making me hurt from the top of my head to the tips of my toes!

When we got news that Lesley would be releasing Marley's story this year, I would have done ANYTHING to get my grabby hands on it! I needed his story SO MUCH! I fell in love with his character when reading Carnage. The lad! The rockstar! The bad boy! But I knew there was more to him. I needed to know just how deep his story went and what REALLY HAPPENED back then.

With 'Marley', we are taken on the EPIC journey told in Past and Present first person POV. Marley has been propositioned to do something that could possibly cause serious hurt, devastating damage and raise truths that were never told, but should have been.

He is torn between his decision. Will he risk everything including his family to go through with this? Or will he do refuse to cause anymore pain to those he loves?

As a reader, we actually get EVERY SINGLE DETAIL, every secret, every thought and every action that I just absolutely DID NOT expect! The story Lesley Jones has created blew any expectations I had out of the water! This book, it literally rocked my world!

Marley is without a doubt one of the most amazing leading male characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Being taken through his journey, from just a young lad on his way to stardom, lapping up every ounce of the rockstar life, crazy decisions, bad choices and abundance of women, to the family man he is now.

Throughout the entire read, Marley made me laugh, he made me mad, he shocked me, and I just couldn't have wished for anything more! Lesley has this way of making her characters so relatable, so real and her story will leave you thinking about them for days, weeks (years in my case) after finishing. Marley is one character who will be added to those special characters who will stay in my heart, ALWAYS! He is loyal, he is lovable he is absolutely GORGEOUS and just so GENUINE! But above that, I felt his torment, I felt his hurt, and his pain. He may have made some poor choices and bad decisions back then, but that is what makes his character so REAL! And for that, I LOVED HIM EVEN MORE!!!

The secondary characters, Ash, George, Macca, Bailey, EVERYONE were such a huge part of this book. And one thing I will always think of when reflecting on this read, is FAMILY! Certain scenes made me sob my heart out, but the family, their love and bond always healed the hurt! Little details had me grinning from ear to ear, especially all of the Brit terms, music references and HILARIOUS slang!

Lesley's writing is OUTSTANDING! Her style, the emotion, the great depth and the gripping storyline had me captured from beginning to end. I wanted to climb inside the pages and party HARD with all of the characters and heal them through their pain. The fictional world this amazing author has created, the storyline, the scenes, EVERYTHING, deserves to be read, experienced and felt and thought about. This series is one that will stay with me forever!

Lesley Jones Biography

Lesley was born and grew up in Essex, just outside of London, England but moved with her family to Australia in 2006 and now lives close to the city of Melbourne. As well as writing, Lesley is an avid reader and also enjoys watching a game of football- the round ball version- while sipping on a glass of wine, during her down time. Despite now living in Aus, she is still an Essex girl at heart and remains partial to her waxing, tinting, sculpting and shellac routines. Lesley is a huge fan of social media and can often be found chatting to her readers in her various groups. She is a sucker for a reality TV show, with TOWIE being her obvious favourite.
