PUCKED UP by Helena Hunting ~ FMR REVIEW

Miller “Buck” Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed up front teeth. After five years in the NHL, deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies, Miller has decided he’s ready for a girlfriend. A real, non-bunny girlfriend to take on dates, and not jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation.

Miller thinks he’s found that woman in his teammate’s sister. Except, unlike team captain and all-around nice guy Alex Waters—who happens to date his stepsister, Miller’s media reputation as a manwhore is well earned. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn’t know the first thing about relationships or the time and effort they require.

Miller learns—eventually—that if he wants to make Sunshine “Sunny” Waters fall for him, he's going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.

This story was incredible! I am still laughing at these characters. Violet and Alex are awesome together. They have wicked senses of humor. I laughed throughout this book. Not sure if that was the intent, but I couldn’t help it!

Violet is not ignorant of the hockey player life style. Her step brother is a player, and she briefly dated one as well. He left her with a bad taste in her mouth for all hockey players. But when she meets Alex, all that goes out the window.

Alex has a bad rep as being a notorious playboy. It has never bothered him. Until Violet. After their night together, he becomes hooked.

He is determined to show her that he does not live up to his reputation. He wants her in his life. He will do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Alex is a complex man. He has it in his mind that he has to have the big endorsements to prove himself. He loses track of what is important in his life.

Violet is blunt and to the point. She is also very playful and wicked funny. I was hooked from the start. I couldn’t put it down. Very hopeful that there will be more of these hockey players and their feisty women.

This book was HILARIOUS!!!! Between Miller and his series of unfortunate events (glad he made it out alive), Vi and her over sharing, and cute and innocent Sunny, this book had me laughing out loud. There are a few things that I really enjoyed about this story because I don't read about them too often. One, the story is told through Millers point of view (POV). More often than not, books are told from the females POV or duel POV, so I was excited that this was from the males POV. Second, I really liked the fact that for the most part the hero had his girl from the very beginning of the story. Otherwise, I thought the story was well written and super fun to read. While there was some drama here and there, I kind of wanted more. Just that extra big "boom" to catch you off guard. Pucked Up is a great book and I highly recommend reading it!

Coming off the high of reading Pucked I had high hopes for Buck and Sunny's story.  Pucked Up didn't disappoint!

We get a whole new side of Miller "Buck" Butterson.  He's a great character who struggles and doesn't always do things right but, has a heart of gold.  His blunders and bad luck are hilarious, his reactions even better.

I didn't like Sunny as much as I thought I would.  I didn't love how she handled a lot of what happened between her and Buck causing him to reassure her all the time.  She did have her moments that left me laughing out loud and cheering her on.  Her granola way of life led to some great storylines.

Violet was hilarious as ever.  Her love and support for Buck was awesome. Her constant over shares were even better.  I didn't love her continual put downs to Buck but liked how the story worked through it making their relationship even stronger.

Wonderfully funny, touching, and sweet read.
