Changing Tides by Sarah Darlington - BLOG TOUR & REVIEW

CHANGING TIDES by Sarah Darlington
"Nate West. Hollywood bad-boy. Television megastar. Womanizer. Basically everything I hate about the male species rolled into one handsome package. And yet…I want him."

Ellie Turner is a lesbian. She has tattoos, short hair, and a ‘don’t-mess-with-me-attitude.’ She knows who she is, loves who she is, and couldn’t care less what the rest of the world thinks of her. And since she has the most kick-ass best friend on the planet, Noah Clark, even when family drama gets in the way, nothing can offset her happy-go-lucky demeanor.

Until television star Nate West comes along. All thick muscle and alpha-male testosterone. When Ellie meets him on an airplane the only thing Nate West should be good for is a brand new profile picture on Facebook. Right? Wrong. Turns out he’s good for so much more.

This man is going to flip everything Ellie thought she knew about herself upside down.

***NA Romance. This novel is the second book in the Kill Devil Hills series, however it can be read as a standalone. Recommended for 18+

OH MY GOSH…I loved this book hard. I was a fan of the first book in the series, but this edition was amazing! It was a terrific continuation of the Turner family and those that lived and loved with them. This book took me into the life of Ellie Turner and I was so happy to read her. She is a complex character and Sara did a fantastic job of allowing me to dig deeper and try to figure her out. This book was just as moving as Kill Devil Hills, but it took the most sure of character and helped us see her venerability.
ELLIE FREAK’N TURNER is a bad ass that I instantly fell in love with! She made me want to wear my heart on my sleeve and be bold. She was passionate about love and life and thought she had it all planned out. Whether it be running her own business or just being with her family, Ellie had no idea that she would soon be questioning the one thing in her life she was so sure she had figured out. Enter Nathanial West…Hollywood royalty and extremely easy on the eyes. Their chance meeting 30,000 miles up in the sky has them both questioning “what the heck is happening here?”
Watching these two fumble around was hilarious!!! They both had successful careers and had been managing quite well until they came together. The quick and flirty banter that they both threw around had me laughing and swooning at the same time. How could the most non compatible people become so perfect for each other? They just did…either through mutual understanding or just a want to know each other more, these two made me believe in love in mid air. I really liked how Sara pulled so much from the first book into this one and really made it feel like all one story instead of 2 separate books.
I totally recommend this book and this series. I liked book one, Kill Devil Hills, but I LOVED this second book. It was such an easy read for me. I was so swoontastic after the first few chapters and I couldn’t wait to read more. There was minimal angst and a lot of lighthearted character development going on. I felt that this book furthered my loved for this series. Even better than the last, I am excited about this series and can’t wait for the next book!!! Totally a 5 star read for me!!!

“Dammit, this girl was more than I ever bargained for. It didn’t matter, though. Beacause maybe, just maybe, she was going to be worth everything to me.” DIED!!! This book was so amazing and wonderful and unexpected. I can’t get over how I was totally reading one book and then BAM it twisted and a whole new story blossomed and developed. This was a wonderful book about life, loss and love and it was worth every minute of my energy. I read through it fast and was completely taken in the whole time. I enjoyed the plot, the characters and the small amount of angst that it was within.
The book started out with a relationship with Noah and Ellie as best friends. I liked watching the way these two bantered back and forth like an old married couple. Roommates and friends didn’t do them justice…they were family through and through. But when the relationship shifted to Noah and Georgina I was jumping for joy. The most unlikely became likely and I couldn’t have wished better for them. Although their relationship started off rocky and took turns, I was happy to watch the progression. Fighting to heal and fighting to be seen, Georgina and Noah struggled and fought for what they wanted.
The character development in this book was great. The author did a fantastic job of detailing and explaining them all and giving a great history. I wasn’t confused rather I felt very comfortable and at ease reading them. The book was very well written and had me captivated right away. I recommend this book highly. I think the series will be fantastic and I can’t wait to read more! 4.5 stars all the way!!!
