I was warned about Tristan Cole.
“Stay away from him,” people said.
“He’s cruel.”
“He’s cold.”
“He’s damaged.”
It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster.
But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.
We were both empty.
We were both looking for something else. Something more.
We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.
Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.

First off, can we just talk about this cover? Out of every book on my shelf and on my kindle, this is absolutely one of my favorites! It is gorgeous! Give me a man with good hair and a good beard and I'm game.
This story was breathtaking! It was just that beautiful. The emotional roller coaster ride Ms. Cherry takes us on is one that had a knot forming in my chest at the pain I knew these characters were facing. I literally found myself holding my chest because it was that tight. It wasn't just the pain, it was the laughs as well. I found myself on the verge of tears and laughing all within one page. The story of two beautiful souls who were connected in such an unimaginable way. Life has brought both of them to their knees with life-changing events and given them second chances. It's hard, painful, yet amazing how Tristan and Elizabeth took a chance on each other, even if it was only as friends.
This was just the kind of story that I needed. A true emotional read that know I won't soon be able to forget.
Also, be ready to find one of your favorite secondary characters. Elizabeth's best friend, Faye, will have you laughing so hard. Between the nicknames she gives and the support for Elizabeth, she's the best one you could hope for. You'll love her and everything about The Air He Breathes!
5 Stars!

I have been trying to find the correct words that will express just how beautiful this story is! But, I keep coming up blank because nothing seems even close to good enough! This story is raw, so raw that it will break your heart and heal you all in one. It will capture your attention from start to finish and it will make you think and FEEL for days after you have finished.
Every so often, I read a book that reminds me of why it is that I read. I read purely for the feels that make me smile until my face hurts, make my heart flutter from the beautiful connection between characters, reading something that makes me cry from the heartbreak and to read something that has me
gripping onto every sentence. Brittainy C. Cherry has gone above and beyond with this story and I feel so privileged to have experienced it.
Tristan and Elizabeth are broken. After both experiencing total devastation, loss and a whole world of hurt, the two damaged souls collide in an unexpected introduction that really proves the saying 'everything happening for a reason.'
Elizabeth is a young Mother to the most adorable little girl, fighting dark days, trying to avoid that slip into the deepest depression. After time of just existing, she knows it's her time to start living for both herself and her daughter. Moving back to where the pain all began is the first step in chasing away the dark days.
Tristan, the bitter, devastated, beautiful man who has experienced so much hurt. He puts on a hard faced, rude and unapproachable demeanour so that he can drown himself in his own thoughts, and just.... EXIST. Hedoesn't want anyone to like him, he doesn't need anyone to like him. Him, his dog Zeus and his boss, Mr Henson the extremely colourful man, are all he knows.
The connection between these characters is full of outstanding depth. As the story progresses, Tristan and Elizabeth experience so many feelings, so much tension, so many REAL moments. They go through so many different stages which I absolutely LOVED. The creativity of the story is above and beyond anything I expected. You think you know what is going to happen, you think you have the story worked out, but then turns, twists and scenes that will make you heart stop, change any thoughts you originally had.
This book is written in dual POV, which made it so beautiful. Reading both views of the main characters made understanding each of them, their pain so much easier.
I LOVED the supporting characters! Elizabeth's little girl, Emma, was an adorable addition to this story. Faye (Elizabeth's best friend) brought the humour into the story, which made the sadness hurt less when it was needed.
I would hate hate hate hate hate to spoil anything in this book! It is such a special read that deserves to be experienced by each and every person!
People are going to connect to the hurt, the love and the scenes that unfold.
This authors writing is magic on paper. I have loved her other books, but this one, it has absolutely blown me away.
If you want a read that will bring you a journey between characters, a read that will rip your heart out and put you back together again, and something that will make you feel each and every written word, THIS IS YOUR BOOK!
A truly outstanding job by Brittainy C. Cherry, this is a book that will stay with me forever.
5 BEAUTIFUL STARS!

I could tell very early on in this book that it was probably gonna break my heart a little ...and it did ....then it slowly mended it and like most mends ....they become stronger after the break ...reinforced ...cause it is in our darkest days ...we learn true triumph!
~~In the blink of an eye, in one moment’s time, everything I knew about life changed.~~
It also ignited my funny bone ...I found myself giggling...more than a few times ..Tristan isn't exactly the nicest person and Liz is probably too nice for her own good...They have both lost so much ...I will admit that I struggled at times with this book ...scratching my head ...missing pieces ...But I stuck with it and I'm glad I did ...truly a testament to the fact that sometimes you have to push through ...you'll come out the other side being glad you did ...
~~If love was a moment, this would be where it existed.~~
Liz's friend Faye was hysterical ...The interactions between Emma and Tristan were just precious...A few things I didn't see coming ...Some #OMG moments ....over all a great Recommended read!
