When I first signed up to read this book I was given the advice “make sure you have Kleenex”. I came prepared.
The story starts in 2000 when we meet Cane and Brittan, 2 high school student whose path crosses on 4th of July. Fast forward about a year and a half later to Brittan starting her senior year of high school and Cane in his second year or college. If you are doing your calculations correct that should bring you to September 2001. Date ring a bell? Cane decided that after the attacks on 9/11 he wanted to serve his country, but not before he asked Brittan to marry him. While he was serving his tours Brittan was planning a wedding. At this point I think you know what happens. (This is when you will need Kleenex).
I cried and cried while I read this. I am not talking teary eyed. I am talking makeup running down my face, that kind of ugly cry.
Brittan takes you on the emotional ride of losing the love of your life, the man who was your soul mate. How can she move on and live life without him.
Enter in hotter than hot rocker Jordan. I will not give any spoiler with him. All I can say is where the hell can I get me one? Do men like that really exist?
LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! It had love and sadness. Happiness and possibilities.
My advice to the next reader: You will need Kleenex and by Kleenex I mean the whole damn box.

This book hit me hard with emotions within the first few chapters. They say you have one soul mate in life but how does one move on when the one person you are destined to be with is no longer around? This is a nerve racking and heartwarming story of Brittan McKenna who had the perfect life until the love of her life and fiancé Cane passes away while he was in active duty in the military.
Then 8 years later, on the anniversary of his death Brittan meets Jordan, a guitarist who is the opening act for Brittan’s band while on tour. That one night of passion was a night that made her feel again. The challenge? To be able accept and open up those feelings.
“Brittan, I know you love Cane and always will. I don’t want to ever make you feel like that is a deal breaker for us. I’m okay with sharing, because like I told Roxie earlier…-baby, I’ll take you any way I can have you. If that means I only get a piece of your heart, then I’ll cherish that one piece as if it is the most priceless item on the god damn planet.”
This is a 4.5 stars must read! A story that will make you believe that there is a possibility to having another soul mate in life, to be able to fall in love, and be happy once again! Read it today!

EXCERPT
As tears begin to fall again, I laugh nervously, “Who are you and what did you do with the cocky asshole I met in Miami? He was easier to hate.”
A killer grin spreads across Jordon’s face, as his eyes twinkle in the lights above us. They are hypnotizing and causing me to fall deeper under his spell, “Ahh, so you admit my irresistible rock god looks and my magic fingers are winning you over?”
The thought of what those fingers have done to me sends a shiver of desire coursing through my body and stopping between my thighs, only to intensify.
He teasingly slides his fingers ever so slowly down my arm, causing goose bumps to blanket every inch of me.
Trying to act like he isn’t getting to me, I toss my head back and purse my lips, “I never said that…I just said I don’t hate you as much as I did a few weeks ago.”
Pinning me on my back, Jordon stares down at me with a glimmer of desire in his eyes that takes my breath away. His lips curl up into a cocky grin, “Oh, baby. There’s no denying it, you like me. I can see it in those gorgeous brown eyes of yours.” Leaning down he presses a soft kiss to the tip of my nose causing me to suck in a sharp breath of air. Pulling back he watches me, as he waits for me to try and deny it some more.
He gets a rise out of our back and forth bantering, but I’m going to surprise him by admitting what he already knows to be true. He deserves a little ego boost after the fantastic day he’s given me.
“Okay…maybe a little.” I say breathlessly, as my chest rises and falls at a rapid pace. I melt under Jordon’s intense gaze.
“Holy shit! She finally admits it! She likes me!” Jordon shouts, shooting up and raising his hands in the air.
