BLURB:
In this second of the sultry, Western-set Coming Home series from New York Times bestselling author HarperSloan, Quinn Davis might finally have a shot at her own happily-ever-after—but will she let love in, or will she tell it to go ahead and kiss her boots?
Quinn Davis prefers to live her life quietly. She’s the stereotypical tomboy with two overprotective big brothers who have always been there to protect her, especially from devilishly handsome cowboys with silver tongues. That is, until Tate Montgomery comes riding into town. Their first meeting, however, is far from something out of a fairy tale and only further convinces Quinn that men aren’t worth her time.
The only place Tate Montgomery ever truly felt at home growing up was during the long, sweltering summer months he spent at his Gram and Paw’s farm in Pine Oak, Texas. Now, Tate has returned to his childhood sanctuary seeking a fresh start—but if he’s being entirely honest, he’s not just back for the wranglers and Stetsons. During those summers, Quinn was a friend-turned-young-love who Tate lost when life threw him a curveball and he cut all ties to his past; but all it takes is one glance at the raven-haired beauty he did his best to forget for him to realize just how much he’s been missing….

This story is about second chances and nothing being what it seems.
9 years ago Tate left Quinn.. No explanation or any hint of a reason he just left.
Now he is back, and boy does he have some explaining to do!!
Tate is very reserved and not your typical small town man. He isn’t in the thick of things but he has a quiet determination to
get what he wants. He is good looking and has a body built for sin. There are not many woman that wouldn’t lust after him.
He only has eyes for 1 woman. Quinn.
Quinn knows heartbreak, she knows what it is like to have a piece of your heart destroyed.. She has made a life for herself and is happily
cruising along, or so she thinks. She has no idea how much Tate’s explanation is going to shake things up and change her life.
This couple Is the opposites attract kinda couple. Quinn is loud, outspoken, runs off the cuff, an absolute sweetheart & loves with all her heart.
She is the heart and soul of her family and she can bring a grown man to his knees without even trying. She is fiercely loyal and will have go to
the ends of the earth for those she holds most dear. She also has a wicked sense of humour and this shines bright all the way through this story.
The dynamic between Quinn & Tate is tangible and the chemistry explosive. When you bring in the support characters it really changes things up a bit.
Quinn’s 2 older brothers leave no doubt to their alpha tendencies but they also understand when to step back & let others take over. This is unusual
In most books. I actually found this refreshing & it made the story more enjoyable not having to read about the brothers vs the boyfriend.
Then there is the best friends Leighton.. What a crack up she is. Not much has changed in that department from book in this series.
All of the characters blend well and because of that the story has a nice flow to it.
I did enjoy this book and read it all in 1 sitting!
4 Stars
