Review by: Leeann
This is one of those books where you are so sure you know what is going to happen that it literally
knocks you for a six when you realise how wrong you have got it!
The anticipation and emotion I felt reading this book was astounding. Emmerson is a young woman who’s life changed
In the blink of an eye and nothing was ever the same for her again. She is conflicted about so many things in her life & can’t
see how she is ever going to move on.
There are two other main characters in this book but I seriously can’t say much about them without giving away the plot!
The characters are complex and well developed. At times my heart broke for them all, but all for different reasons.
There are things in life that no child should have to go through & yet Emmerson has had to experience most of them to some
degree. It is heartbreaking. But as an adult she sees things very differently and it was really interesting to see life through her eyes
as it is now.
The war within herself is understandable and justified but no less devastating and this is one of those books that you could easily
see made into a movie.
There is a huge twist and if I am being honest, I didn’t see it coming. The story certainly did not continue in the
direction I anticipated it would.
This is the 1st book I have read by this author and after finishing this one I will definitely be looking to check out more of her work ASAP!!
