Quinn Hamilton had it all—A grades, a loving family, and a spot on the waitlist for the latest Hermes handbag. The one item left unchecked on her to-do list was her brother’s best friend, Liam, and that was only because Braden was overprotective when it came to his mates.
When tragedy struck, Quinn was left with nothing. Not even the handbag made it.
Three years later, Quinn’s focused on the things that count—getting a steady job, looking after her mother, and playing it safe. Her dreams of working for a fashion magazine haven’t just left the building—they’ve dived into the gutter, never to be touched again.

Three years later, Quinn’s focused on the things that count—getting a steady job, looking after her mother, and playing it safe. Her dreams of working for a fashion magazine haven’t just left the building—they’ve dived into the gutter, never to be touched again.
But when completing a two-week internship in the city, Quinn meets someone who makes her do the one thing she’s been trying desperately to avoid—feel. Will this sexy man who knows so much of her history help her go after what she wants? Or is their brand of passion as outdated as last season’s trends?
She’s running from her past, but her past is running faster.

Review by: Leeann
Ok, so I will admit that I am an emotional reader. I love it when I get to the end of a book & I have felt the whole range of emotions
that the characters have felt right along side of them.
That is exactly what I got with this book.
I feel it should have come with a warning something like this “Do not read while you are at a kids birthday party because you may get teary
causing a parent you have never met before to approach you and ask if everything is ok putting you in a position of having to explain you are
reading a book..”
Anyway, Quinn & Liam.. I fell in love with these characters straight away. They were very easy to connect with & the empathy that emerged
towards them was at times overwhelming.
They have actually not been in each others lives for a number of years but when they unexpectedly reconnect it is a second chance for them
to decide if under these new circumstances they are willing to take a chance on each other.
Quinn is an intelligent articulate young woman who has something from her past holding her back. She is stuck in a limbo and isn’t sure she
ever wants to leave it. Reconnecting with Liam has her questioning everything she though she knew about herself. She is finding for the first
time in years she has been able to make friends and smile. There is one person that can’t stand to see her happy and takes every opportunity
to knock her down testing her strength & resilience. As well as being intelligent she has word vomit syndrome (no it’s not a real thing!) and the
stuff that comes out of her mouth is so damn funny!
Liam is an absolute sweetheart & he knows Quinn needs time to adjust to having him back in her life. He is her perfect match & spends his time
Making her happy. His life hasn’t turned out the way he planned either but he has learnt to adapt & make the best of what he has.
This is a short book, but don’t be fooled by the number of pages between start and finish. This book packs a huge punch and will have you feeling
so emotional all the way through. The story is well written the characters likeable, relatable and well developed and the plot flowed seamlessly.
I will say that the ending was not what I expected, but it was perfect for Liam and Quinn. I really hope we get to read more about this couple as
This really was just the beginning of their journey.
If you want to read a book that makes you feel the raw vulnerability of the characters and has you reaching for the tissues one minute and laughing
Out loud the next, then you seriously need to get your one click finger out for this one!
