RUIN by Clarissa Wild • FMR REVIEW

ABOUT Ruin

Maybell Fairweather was the girl of my dreams.

Always smiling brightly, she kept going, despite the names her classmates called her behind her back.
She was full of curiosity and independence, the extent of which I could only be jealous of. Even though she had all odds stacked against her, she knew what she wanted from life and pursued it, no matter the cost.

She was completely my opposite in every way.
Perfect, even though she couldn’t see it.
Perfect … until me.

Because this is the story of how I ruined her.

Based on a true story. Standalone Romance. No cliffhanger.

Review by: Atalia

Though Ruin is different, as compared to Clarissa’s previous works, it still manages to deliver the same results as her other books: an intriguing, heart pounding story that you don’t want to look away from. One that will leave you smiling as you read the very last word.

This book was very much more about the characters themselves and the layers they hide. A raw look at two different individuals who, though they both lead different lives, are similar when it comes to the struggle and confinement that their layers bring. It was very interesting to follow Maybell and Alexander as they evolved and dealt with their demons. Throughout the book, these two felt very real. The different topics that are dealt with bring such a realness to the book and are easily relatable issues that many face on a daily basis. I think because of this and it being inspired by a true story, it will bring comfort to others who may feel alone in their journey.

This departure to her norm is just as much a treasure to her as it is for us, the readers. If you are a fan of Clarissa, don’t be afraid to take the leap into this new style of her writing, it’ll be worth it!
