Synopsis:

Shannon Hale knows what she wants in life. Or so she thought. But one cheating fiancé and shredded wedding dress later, she skips town desperately needing a do-over. So she moves in with her brother, the new quarterback for the Raleigh Rough Riders, starts her own business, and vows to live by her own rules and no one else’s. Oliver Powell is a man who always gets what he wants. As the sexy as sin MVP Tight End, he’s arrogant. He’s loaded. He’s also got a sizable package below the belt that drives the women crazy. And he’s focused. The prize—a Super Bowl ring on his finger. His concentration on getting that ring is unwavering—until Shannon Hale shows up. Now the only game he wants to win involves her ending up in his bed. The problem? Shannon wants nothing to do with NFL’s resident playboy. The solution? Play dirty.

Review by: Tatia

There wasn't much about this story that I didn't enjoy. The progression of it was so perfect. It didn't seem rushed or prolonged anywhere.

Shannon Hale did it. She made her brother's dream come true. He's a professional football player. Having just been drafted to the Rough Riders, they believe he could be the one to help take them all the way. She soon meets Oliver Powell, the captain of the team. He's cocky and has absolutely ZERO filter. He's known as the player of the team. He doesn't get close to women, but something about Shannon has him wanting more than just one night. She's different than the other women that usually try to get his attention. She actually wants to know him, not for money or notoriety, just to find out who he really is. He's unsure about it as the last time he let a woman get close to him burned him. He'll soon find out that taking a risk may just be worth it.

Shannon and Oliver face their own challenges, separately and together. It's not all smooth sailing from the beginning. People from their pasts come back to start trouble, words are said after long days at work, and their relationship is pushed to its limit. I loved the dynamic between these two. Not only them, but Shannon's brother Beaux plays a large part as well. He supports Shannon and her dreams and wants her to succeed just as much. You have to read the book to see how it all plays out.

Stacey Lynn currently lives in Minnesota with her husband and four children. When she’s not conquering mountains of laundry and fighting a war against dust bunnies and cracker crumbs, you can find her playing with her children, curled up on the couch with a good book, or on the boat with her family enjoying Minnesota’s beautiful, yet too short, summer. She lives off her daily pot of coffee, can only write with a bowlful of Skittles nearby, and has been in love with romance novels since before she could drive herself to the library.
