I've read a few other books that the author had co-authored, and really enjoyed them so I wanted to try something else from the author. While I enjoyed the characters, both Kaden and Lexie have these deep happenings going on in their lives, the story just felt a little flat to me. Maybe it was because I just finished reading another office romance story so this one didn't appeal to me as much. The characters were really deep, they had a lot going on in their lives that the story touched on but I just wish we were given more. There could have been more emotion brought out from the story because of these things but I feel it was just brushed over. The story was well written, a lot of interesting stuff happening but I wish. there was more. There were a few twist and turns that caught me by surprise but also a few predictable moments. Overall, it was a middle of the road book but I am willing to read more from the author.
