Review by: Kim

I don't even know how to start this review so I'm just going to start talking.
We all know who BT Urruela is and I was thrilled to get to read his book.
I wasn't really sure what to think about Into the Nothing as I don't have much experience reading male romance authors. But the prologue grabbed me and dragged me into this story. I think I read for two days straight.
Xander was beyond a little broken in my opinion. And even after finishing this book, I still feel like he's a mystery. I would have liked more detail about his background.
At times I got a little confused because he spoke and acted like a soldier, but he said that he wasn't. So where did he get all his experience?
Perhaps the author intended it this way? I found the lack of details a little disappointing.
Paige...I love her. She's so open and outspoken. She doesn't bat her little eyelashes and act all coy. No, this woman tells it like it is and if a swear word works best, she says it. The only thing I have to say is there were times where it was obvious that the author was writing from a man's prospective. There were times that Paige seemed a little rough around the edges for the way the author wrote her. Perhaps she could have been a bit softer?
Into The Nothing is a book written with a lot of love included in the pages. Each word that this family shares is written with care.
I cried when tragedy struck this family.
This author touches on some very difficult subjects, but it's done in a very gentle way. Well done.
The chemistry between Xander and Paige was good, but a little lacking on the details. I would have liked a few more meaningful glances before the kissing. But that's just me.
All in all, BT Urruela gives us readers a story about a man who gives up almost to much for the woman that he never thought he'd find.
Oh, and well done with the twist. Very clever.

"How about twenty questions?" I ask.
"I hate twenty questions."
"How about five questions, then?"
He cracks a smile and lifts an eyebrow. "How about three?"
"So, have I mentioned how much I fucking hate Tuesdays?" Brandi's voice cuts right between us. Xander looks relieved.
Me? Not so much. "Damn it, Brandi!"
"Oh nothing. Can you grab me Fireball though? Pretty please. Two of them." I look at Xander. "You're taking one."
"Three. I am too, bitch! Fuck Tuesdays!" Brandi calls out from across the bar as she begins filling the shot glasses from the Fireball chiller.
"Question one. You said you’ve been traveling for a while now, right? Do you ever get tired of it? Ever feel like settling?”
"Damn. Starting out with the heavy hitters, huh?" He eyes the shot glasses as if hoping it will somehow make them fill faster.
"Need me to go easier on you? Maybe a finger or two first before I go in with the whole fist?"
He looks at me in disbelief. "Did you really just say that?"
"Just answer the question, two fingers or three?"
