OK where do I start for Helena and Max's story?
I will start by saying this is my first ever Belle Aurora book... and I loved it hard!
The message in this story is really clear, you don't have to be blood related to be family. Max and Helena are part of a group that are not all blood related. But despite the lack of a blood connection they are everything a family should be. They love each other fiercely and unreservedly. This group does include max's brother and Helena's sister.
Neither Max nor Helena want a relationship, they are complicated and messy. Helena is a physical therapist, her job comes first and she doesn't want a man to interfere with that.
Max has a daughter who is confined to a wheelchair. His daughter always comes first. He is not willing to have anyone interfere with that. Then Helena becomes Max's daughters physical therapist.
As things progress the three of them become a family unit without even realising it.
OK, so as happy as they are, communication isn't their strong point. They have fallen in love with each other and it takes them both a while to admit to it, but once they do there is no going back. Helena has also fallen in love with Max's daughter. She loves her like a mother even though they don't share the same DNA. She will protect her like a mother, she will go out of her way to make sure she is happy just like any mother would. And this shows Max how right Helena is for him. She doesn't just love him, but his little girl as well.
Then there is a huge misunderstanding and they need to work out how to get past it and move on.
I love it when an author can inject a bit of humour into a story without taking away from the story or the characters and Belle Aurora had definitely achieved this. I laughed so much reading this book, but I also felt the emotions right along with Helena and Max. I'm not giving away spoilers but there was one part where I was so proud of Helena I wanted to jump into the book and hug her so hard! She was just awesome!
If you like to laugh as well as sigh, cry and cringe then you seriously need to have a read of this book. You will not be disappointed at all. You will get to the end and still want more it is that good!!

Family, Friends, Laughter, Tears and so much more!! Max and Helena's story has it all.
I love this series and Max's story was one I was looking forward to, Belle did not disappoint with her delivery of Sugar Rush.
Everything Max is just adorable, you just want to wrap him up and store him away just to keep for yourself. Helena is kickass and love her whole outlook on life. Ceecee is just adorable, together they totally ROCK.
I loved that Belle also gave us some of the other Characters POV in the story. A well written story with lots going on, if you want a laugh, cry or just DIBS Max this book has it all.
Sugar Rush is part of the Friend Zoned series but can be read as a standalone but seriously you will want to read the whole series, it's kickass.
