Synopsis

Meet Bruce ‘Jilly’ Gillette player for the New York Kings. He has had a bit of a rough childhood & isn’t the most communicative man around. He has been in love once & that didn’t end well for him, so he steers clear of the female population & keeps to himself. He doesn’t have much of a social life & only does the publicity work he is required to do under contract.
Hailey was Bruce’s first & only love. She also loved him but they were you and like Bruce, she wasn’t very good at communication either. Because of this there was a misunderstanding & they both went their separate ways after high school. He went on to play Baseball in the big leagues & she went to college. There was no communication between them at all.
Now, years later they meet again. Hailey has entered a competition to win a date with ‘Jilly’ Gillette & she has won. But, things aren’t always as they seem. Things seem to be going along well until it comes to light Hailey has been keeping a secret from Bruce, and when he finds out he is not a happy man. This secret could change everything.. If they let it.
They have people who are on their side & want them together, but they also have people who are against their relationship & want them to fail. They need to decide what they want & fight for it or lose it.
This story is very well written & not filled with two people that just run around having lots of sex without a story line. The story line is strong & will suck you in with the vulnerability shown by both characters. Their story is filled with lots of misunderstandings, but not just about each other, but themselves as well. Their journey is filled with so much angst & it really is caused just by a lack of communication between the two of them.
There are some sweet moments filled with love & tenderness because they really do love each other and have done for many years even though most of that time was spent apart. The writer has captures this beautifully in the story & it comes across quite strongly.
I like reading sexy scenes as much as the next person but this story proves that sometimes less is more. This story is able to stand on its own without all the steamy scenes because the story and the characters are strong enough to carry the story through. Don’t get me wrong, there are some sex scenes but they are quite late in the book and not over the top, the way they have been written fits the characters perfectly.
This is a beautifully written very enjoyable read. I would highly recommend to anyone who loves a good romance with a strong character base & wants a beautiful happy ever after!
