FMR's Favorite February Reads!

Each month the girls at FMR pick their favorite books they read that were released during the month.
Here is the list for February!
(in no particular order)

They called him Mack Daddy. No, seriously, his name was Mack. Short for Mackenzie. Thus, the nickname. Perfect, right?  So was he: perfect. The perfect physical male specimen. At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women. Everyone wanted a piece of the hot, single father of the sweet little boy.  I became a woman I didn't recognize, someone riddled with jealousy, because they didn't know that--to me--he was much more.

"It was everything I would expect from a Penelope Ward book and more!" - Gina
~ Mack Daddy ~

When Hailey Harper left her family farm to enroll in veterinary school, she had a plan: keep her head down, ace her classes, and most importantly... don’t upset the uncle paying her tuition. Translation? Don’t piss off his dramatic, self-absorbed daughter, Danica, even if she’s a nightmare to live with.
Falling in love with her cousin’s rock star ex-boyfriend was definitely not part of the plan.

"This is more than a rock star romance...this is a love story at it's finest!!!" -Gina
~ Havoc ~

He wants to dominate her senses—and her heart…

Quinton Ross has always been a thrill-seeker—so it’s no surprise that he’s drawn to extremes in the bedroom and at his play club, Blasphemy, where he creates sense-depriving scenarios that blow submissives’ minds. Now if he could just find one who needs the rush as much as him…

"This book is sweet and sexy." - Kim
~ Mastering Her Senses ~

War. It took everything from me, even myself. When you're only able to exist, death seems like a blessing. Pain...a welcome distraction. I ran from everything associated with my past, and then she found me, fighting, drowning myself in whisky, trying to forget. She reminds me of Connor, of what I've lost—what we've lost. In the midst of destruction, she's a salvation I don't deserve.

I shouldn't love him.
I shouldn't love her.
Love is a war we never should have fought.

"This story of love, loss, torment, destruction, hope; it'll rip you wide open. At least, that's what it did to me." - Tatia
~War Poppy ~

Scars are tattoos with better stories…

A scarred, lonely woman
A curious little boy
One uninvited, tattooed guest
A nasty blizzard
One cabin
Two guns
A set of handcuffs
What could possibly go wrong?

"This book was awesome. It was emotional it was sweet it was drama it was hot and sexy and so much more." - Flavia
~ Scars and Tats ~

One drunken hookup leaves us with much more than a platonic friendship. Pretending it never happened proves to be more difficult than anticipated.

A crazy ex-girlfriend, a dangerous war of stolen glances, and passionate kisses leads to the most reckless battle yet. I won't be a pawn in his game, but I'll play by his rules if it will show him I'm the one worth breaking them for.

Checkmate, Prince Charming.

"Kennedy Fox delivers a scorching hot, hilarious, throw-your-kindle, I-want-more, I-can't-handle-the-drama, absolutely amazing novel!" - Gina
~ Checkmate: This Is Reckless ~

Will she ever find a way to overcome the guilt?
The anger.
The pain.
Healing seems impossible.
Moving on...
Until him.
He's the only one who can save her.
But it comes with a heavy price.

"I could feel all the emotions that K. Langston poured into it while writing. It bled off the pages and into me—heightening my reading experience by a thousand." - Amy E
~ Sylvie ~

One taste, one touch, one moan, and I'm addicted.

Grace is the game changer I never saw coming. Everything I've ever wanted is finally within reach.
Suddenly, I'm playing the most important game of my life... a game where losing isn't an option.

Because this time... winning means forever.

"Seriously could the Bennett brothers get any more swoon worthy? I don't think so!" - Leeann
~ Sexy Six ~

When I met Donovan Kincaid, I knew he was rich. I didn't know he was filthy. Truth be told, I was only trying to get his best friend to notice me.

"This was the perfect tasting to get us ready for the full meal that will come with Dirty Filthy Rich Men!" - Tatia
~ Dirty Filthy Rich Boys ~

Cami has come a long way from the scared girl who left home at sixteen and pregnant. With hard work and determination, she’s built her daughter a dream life in Arrow Creek, West Virginia. As a single mom, career paramedic, and a homeowner, she doesn’t have time to entertain love. Or men. Or sex. Definitely forget about dating.

Fast forward fourteen years, she stumbles upon her childhood best friend and love, Lawrence ‘Law’ Briggs, at the local coffee shop. A painful confrontation ensues and challenges her carefully constructed reality. Her strength wavers with Law’s reappearance as half-truths are revealed and memories flood through the barrier. Each encounter uncovers the remnants of their deep feelings, but the pain and guilt between them leads Cami to believe they could never work through their past. Dark secrets hold them apart. The deepest betrayal imaginable.

Her daughter was a gift she'd never regret, even if it meant she lost him forever. The answer seems simple, but it’s not. Years of hurt and suffering can’t hide that Law still loves her, but is that love enough?

"If you want a book that is going to have you experiencing every emotion possible, from beyond happy to scared to pissed and then right back to the beginning, A.M. Wilson wrote the perfect story for you." - Tatia
~ At the Risk of Forgetting ~

Cora Matthews grew up with the Adams’ boys, twin brothers and best friends who wouldn’t let anything come between them—except for her. One of them became her best friend; the other, her fiancĂ©.

She always knew she’d wind up marrying one of them, and Jacob Adams is the epitome of Mister Right. At least until he fails to show up for their wedding...

"It is a unique storyline which makes for some serious WTF moments but also so Laugh out loud ones too!" - Leeann
~ Mister Wrong ~

She likes picking up her camera because it allows her to see things through a different lens. Like when she lost her job recently and instead of focusing on what she’s forced to leave behind, she zooms in on the new options opening up in front of her. Or when a dangerous looking silver fox comes rolling up her path on a FatBoy, and her digital output shows a deep loneliness, matching her own, in his ice-blue eyes.
But when she's working on making her dreams come true, she inadvertently captures something in her viewfinder she can’t un-see.

"This story is full of mystery, intrigue and high levels of sexual tension." - Leeann

Fake engaged to the hottest quarterback in the country? SCORE.
They say nothing compares to your first kiss,
But our first kiss was orchestrated for an audience.
Our second kiss . . . that one was REAL.

"From beginning to end, this book was spectacular!

~ Fake Fiancee ~

But in the words of Paige herself: “What a crock of shiitake.”

Known affectionately (or not) as P.I.T.A. to those closest to her, she’s never been one to buy into the whole monogamy thing for herself. Sure, her BFFs are getting picked off by Cupid one by one, but his arrows have nothing on her semiautomatic.

"I loved the friends or enemies or frienemies to lovers part of the story. It just added to the humor and the banter and playfulness to the story." -Gina

~ P.I.T.A ~

What started as two grieving people leaning on each other has quickly turned into something neither of them expected. Lilly is ready to take the next step, but how do you move forward when the man you love refuses to let go of the past?

Especially when the only hope they have of healing their broken souls is if they do it together.

"It's impossible to get through this book without crying at least once.  This book was a roller coaster of high emotions, and while there was love and joy, pain and loss were the prevalent emotions." - Amy E

~ A Broken Soul ~

I shouldn’t have remembered him.

He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn't know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all.

But I could feel him.

The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated.

The second time was different.

"Tijan amazes me when she weaves together a story, especially one like this, where you're not really sure what's going on but your loving ever second of it." - Amy E

~Cole ~

I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve.

At least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. She’s all the good things in this world. She lights up my dark.

I shouldn’t want her.

But I do.

I should leave her alone.

But I won’t.

"From the very beginning was hooked! Lance's story was just so heartbreaking but I loved reading about him overcoming his demons and wanting to strive to become a better man."
- Gina

~ Pucked Off ~

Laire, who wants more from life than her little island can offer, is swept away by wealthy, sophisticated Erik, who is, in turn, entranced by her naiveté and charm. The two spend a whirlwind summer together that ends on the knife-point of heartbreak and forces them to go their separate ways.

Years later, when fate finds them together once again, they will discover the terrifying depth of the secrets they kept from each other, and learn that shattered hearts can only be healed by a love that willfully refuses to die.

"This amazing book is a tale woven with pages full of angst and old traditions." - Kim

~ Don't Speak ~

Graham Landry is the epitome of NSFW in his custom-fit suit, black-rimmed glasses, and a look so stern her libido doesn’t stand a chance. Being flustered is just the start of her problems.

Her punctuality is only the start of his. With a pink slip in hand, he’s been waiting on his new secretary to show up only to let her go. Then she rushes in with her doe eyes and rambling excuses, smelling like bacon and lavender. The termination paper falls to the side as she falls in his arms.

This is a disaster in the making. Not because of his pinpoint exactness or her free spirit, but because when they’re together, the sparks that fly threaten to burn the whole place down.

I love the Landry family! Barrett and Lincoln, their books were amazing, but Graham? Yeah, I think he wins the price for the hottest Landry man." - Flavia

~ Switch ~

I loved Manning before I knew the meaning of the word. I was too young, he said. I would wait. Through all the carefully-chosen words hiding what we knew to be true, through his struggle to keep me innocent, and through infinitely-starry nights—I would wait. But I’d learn that life isn’t always fair. That no matter how much you achieve, none of it matters if you suffer the heartbreak that comes with falling for someone you can never have. Because even though I saw Manning first, that didn’t matter. My older sister saw him next.

"I'm completely enthralled and invested in this new series by Jessica Hawkins. She never disappoints when it comes to angst." - Tatia

~ Something In The Way ~

The arrogant boy who was my teenage rival is now a chiseled doctor armed with intimidating good looks. He is Lucas Thatcher 2.0, the new and improved version I’ll be competing with in the workplace instead of the schoolyard.

I’m not worried; I’m a doctor now too, board-certified and sexy in a white coat. It almost feels like winning will be too easy—until Lucas unveils a tactic neither of us has ever used before: sexual warfare.

The day he pushes me up against the wall and presses his lips to mine, I can’t help but wonder if he’s filling me with passion or poison. Every fleeting touch is perfect torture. With every stolen kiss, my walls crumble a little more. After all this time, Lucas knows exactly how to strip me of my defenses, but I’m in no hurry to surrender.

Knowing thy enemy has never felt so good.

"RS Grey ones again delivers an amazing witty and electric romantic comedy!"  - Gina
