Sometimes you come across a book that just rips your heart out but pieces it back together as the story goes on...yup Pinky Promise did that to me! The beginning of this book just broke my heart. What State and Baylor endured as kids was just unimaginable. The author did a great job bringing out those emotions.

This book had all the FEELS!!! I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I cried and swooned some more! The author did a great job writing the progression of the story and kept it interesting from the beginning to the end. There was always something going on and it kept you guessing on what was going to happen next.

This is an amazing second chance/friends to lovers story that will  rip your heart out and put it back together. I fell it love with all the main characters! They all held their own through out the story. I highly recommend this book. The author out did herself with this story and giving us all the emotions!

Heartbreaking, soul destroying, devastating.... These are all the words I would use to describe the first chapter of this book..
But then, in true HJ Bellus fashion we see her weave a story from the bottom up to evolve what started out as a story of despair into a tale full of hope, joy, wonder, love and triumph.

HJ Bellus has taken not just 2 characters but 4 and written their life story in a way that both rips your heart out and smashes it to pieces then bit by bit puts it back together. The characters are all amazing in their own ways and the way they change from the very beginning through to the end is nothing short of amazing. Baylor & State are the main characters but then there is also Miss Tami & the ever beautiful Rowe who I can say in all honesty, steals the show right out from under the rest of the characters!!
I think what I loved most about this story is the unconditional love that pours out of all of these characters. When they love, they love with all they have. It is fierce, it is loyal and it is all consuming. The feelings are real, the emotions are high and throughout it all, the love shines bright and constant. Time hasn’t dulled the memories or the feelings and when tragedy strikes this self- made family they truly see what it means to stick together and show everyone else, but more importantly themselves what it means to rise against the odds and come out the other side smiling and happy.
State and Baylor know the true meaning of the “Pinky Promise”. They learnt it at a very young age and even years later when they join pinkies, they know it is a promise of a lifetime full of joy, happiness and love.
I will admit I did read this book in 1 sitting. I did need tissues and my hubby & children looked at me like I had lost the plot while I sobbed my heart out on one page and smiled at something I thought was funny on the next!!
If you love a book with all the feels, all the emotions & one that keeps you captivated from start to finish while leaving you wanting more, then you are going to want to read this ASAP!!

Once again HJ Bellus has exceeded my expectations and left me in awe of her talent, her creativity, her compassion and her ability to take a story, strip the characters raw and build their tale into a truly beautiful timeless romance. I cannot wait to see what she writes next!!

HJ Bellus is a small town girl who loves the art of storytelling. When not making readers laugh or cry, she's a part-time livestock wrangler that can be found in the middle of Idaho, shot gunning a beer while listening to some Miranda Lambert on her Beats and rocking out in her boots.
