Synopsis:
Love is best served on the rocks.
My roommates look really good naked. At least one of them does. I’m sure the other one does too, but I haven’t seen him without his pants on. Living with two guys wasn't something I’d ever considered, but the opportunity fell in my lap, and I’d have been crazy to turn it down.
College went by in a great big blur leaving me with less of a direction than I had going in. Add in a family that wanted nothing to do with me, and my post-college plans were less than clear. What’s a girl to do when she has nowhere else to turn? She moves to the Outer Banks and learns to bartend. After all, it was my horrible bartending skills that led me to my roommate’s bed and into his heart.

On The Rocks is the first novel I've read from this author and it certainly won't be my last! I've always heard great things about this author and her writing so when the opportunity arose to review a novel of hers, I took it. And I'm so glad I did! I enjoyed it from beginning to end and couldn't put it down. The interactions between Carly and Macon were definitely my favorite! Their banter and teasing kept me flipping through pages wanting to read more about them. I enjoyed following along as they helped each other through different obstacles, such as insecurities and family issues. They were still finding each other when they met. Each with an undecided future. But as they spent more time together and their resistance exploded, an undecided future seemed less scary because no matter what it might hold, they won't be alone. They'll get there together.

Carly at first is sorta lost. After college with no where to go, she moves in with her older brother temporarily. Moving Corolla gave her that bit of relief she was seeking and also led her back to someone who was about to rock her world. She arrived with a bag full of insecurities and family issues but with the help of friends, her brother, and a sexy diver, her luggage slowly but surely began to weigh less. What I loved about Carly was that although at times she was shy and sorta timid, she never hesitated to stand up for herself and was also a go getter. I also admired the love she has for her family and friends. She would do anything for them. Corolla at first was her escape, but in the end, it was also her salvation.

This boy is all kinds of dreamy. Along with being all kinds of hot, Macon is also loyal, funny, caring and an incredible friend. He's for sure THAT guy. You know, the one that all the girls want to date and all the guys love to hate. He can literally pick any girl at a bar that he wants & she will go willingly with him. Oh & he totally takes advantage of that fact. But that all started to change once the moment Carly comes back to town. This confident player suddenly became a nervous and flustered wreck whenever he was around Carly. And I loved that!! I loved the moments where he didn't know what to say to her because he was so mesmerized by her. She had him rethinking what he wanted in life. She provided him with a future he never knew he wanted. Overall, On The Rocks was a very entertaining and enjoyable read with characters who will leave you wanting more. I would definitely recommend this novel to all romance readers who love sexy and fun forbidden romances. Although this book can be read as a standalone, it should not be read before the first as there will be major spoilers for those who have not yet read it. I can't wait to see where this series goes & REALLY hope Brody gets his own book!!! I LOVE that guy! Everyone should give this series a try because these characters will surely leave a lasting impression.
