I love books that are surprising, suspenseful, and different which is exactly what Number Thirteenby Bella Jewel is. What’s more I stayed up into all hours of the night reading it because I absolutely could not put this book down. This story is completely unpredictable and not at all what it seems. If you have your heart set on a dark romance this really isn’t it but if you want something that is fascinating, gripping, and unexpectedly hopeful with impeccable writing, perfect pacing, and phenomenal characters this is the book for you.
The prologue sucked me in, the first chapter intrigued me, and the second and third chapters had me begging for more. There is never a dull moment or lull in the story. There is never a good time to put this one down and if you are able to walk away you it stays in your head making you ponder what exactly is going on and just what will happen next.
Very early on we witness the birth of a monster and once we experience the first few days of the girls’ captivity you are sure that there is nothing that can happen that will make you change your mind about this man. Be prepared to cast aside all preconceived notions as you are drawn to him more and more throughout the story and finally you find you can’t help but love him.
I loved each and every twist, turn, and revelation throughout the course of this story. Number Thirteen is vastly different from anything else I’ve read and anything that I was anticipating. I adored every minute of it.
