Book title: VIP
Author: M. Robinson
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release date: December 4, 2013

32 year old Sebastian Vanwell, was a very successful yacht broker, who always loved the design and architecture of a luxurious boat. His only addiction was being on the water. He loved it, he thrived on it, and he needed it in his life. After a very stable, loving child hood with only a few bumps, Sebastian married the love of his life. The one person that he knew would always be there. Julia was his rock, and he loved her more than life itself. Sebastian kept his addiction to the water under control, wanting to keep his time with his wife and son his number one obsession, that was until he saw her. This new addiction haunted him, the one compulsion that he couldn't control no matter how hard he tried.

Ysabelle Telle hit him hard, knocking the wind from his lungs. Coming from worlds apart, beautiful, dark complexion Ysabelle Telle didn't have the rich, protected background that Sebastian Vanwell had. Ysabelle lived a life of hell, in poverty, growing up with a drug addict mother that never cared, and horrific living conditions. Ysabelle lived for one person and one person only; herself. She was pure perfection, her beauty along with a flawless body had men lined up, driveling over her insuring her success as a VIP.

There are too many words that describe the effects when two diverse worlds like theirs collide. They both have too much to lose to get caught in the forceful pull, which could destroy them both.

Warning sex/drugs/language. Mature readers only.

After reading the blurb for VIP by M. Robinson, I thought it sounded interesting and I figured I would give it a try. I can say that the blurb in no way does this book justice. Sometimes you find a blurb that oversells a story, but this was far and away one of the biggest undersells I have encountered. There was so much more to this story than was described and I was in no way prepared for the depth and intensity of this story.

I really liked the characters. I did not always, or should I say usually, agree with or condone their actions and decisions, but I definitely liked the characters themselves and their development. I really admired Ysabelle’s strength in the face of an incredibly horrific childhood. Not only that, I also loved her resilience, her perseverance, and her determination to take control of herself, her body and her fate. After the arduous journey Ysabelle was forced to take from beginning to end, the transformation she made was beautiful. Sebastian is an extremely good guy who makes some extremely bad decisions.

Following him from early childhood was both heartwarming and heartbreaking and helped to form a powerfully strong bond, one that makes you feel for him and stick by him no matter how bad the decision or situation.

This book is seriously steamy. This would kind of be expected when the heroine is an escort right? Not only were those scenes hot with a capital H, but the tension and the scenes between Sebastian and Ysabelle were sweltering. This book is classified as erotica and boy is it ever, but what’s wonderful is that it’s not erotica with a side of storyline. It is smoking hot love scenes as a part of an intricate, powerful, emotional story.

I loved the history that was detailed in the beginning of the book. The problem that I found with it though was that it sort of seemed like two separate distinctive books in one which made the first and second halves of the book seem disjointed. There is life before Ysabelle and Sebastian’s paths cross and then there is life after they meet and while I definitely appreciated everything that happened in the beginning it sort of left me confused as to where things were headed and having reached the halfway point before meeting, it made me wonder when and even if the events disclosed in the blurb would take place.

Overall I really enjoyed VIP, it was intriguing, absorbing, and stimulating. I am thrilled to see that there will be more to this series and eagerly await the next chapter in this story.

4.5 stars!!!
