When I saw the words “End of Book One” I couldn’t believe the book was over. Layers grabbed ahold of me and didn’t let me out of its grasp. I can still hear the echo of my silent scream when I realized I had reached the end. Words cannot begin to describe the story told in this book nor the lovable cast of characters. 

Layers is the story of Haley Grace (Hales to her friends) and Daniel Stark. Haley has to attend a job-fair at Stark Software Technologies in payment for losing a drinking game with her two best friends Ian and Tasha. Feeling hung-over from a long night of drinking, Haley ducks into a kitchen for a cup of coffee and hopes no one notices her quick side trip. Haley doesn’t realize she isn’t alone, spills coffee on herself and utters a phrase that could be taken as an invitation to commit carnal acts.

She turns around. “Standing there is the very picture of hot, tall and sinful. White tee, jeans, and the most alluring bad boy stance. Something in his crooked smile inexplicably leaves me dumbfounded. For the space of a moment, I am lost in him.”

If you guessed the hottie wanting to know “is that a request?” is Daniel, you would be correct. You may not be surprised to know that Daniel is also an arrogant, self-made billionaire and the CEO of Stark ST. You might also think that you have read this story before - like there is nothing new here to see – WRONG!
