Some universal truths refuse to be ignored.
Peanut butter and jelly are a match made in heaven. Spaghetti and meatballs are best friends forever. And guys like Tyler Knight don’t go for girls like Cam Emerson.
She knew from the second she met him that he didn’t belong on her bookshelf, the six-foot-six ex-tight end with a face so all-American, it could have sold apple pie. So she shelved him next to the supermodels and rock stars and took her place on her own shelf — the one with the flannel-clad, pasty-faced comic book nerds. Most of her boyfriends have existed between the pages of books, but rather than worrying over her own lacking love life, she puts all her energy into playing Cupid, using her job at the book bar, Wasted Words, as her stomping ground.
Tyler Knight always looks on the bright side. His career-ending injury turned into a job as a sports agent. A horrible breakup led him to Cam, his quirky, smart roommate who is far more beautiful than she realizes. She’s made it perfectly clear she’s not interested in him — not like that at least — but if she ever changes her mind, he won’t hesitate. Because he doesn’t see the lines she’s drawn between them, as much as she insists that they’re there. Deep down he knows that despite their differences, they’re a match well made.
*A romantic comedy inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma*

I am a HUGE fan of friends to lovers stories and Wasted Words was just the perfect!!! I loved the characters!!! Tyler was the perfect book boyfriend and Cam was just fun and feisty. I will be honest, there were times where I yelled at my kindle, telling Cam to get out of her own head!!! She had doubts about herself that she constantly questioned through out the book but eventually got it together.
There weren't a lot of hot scenes in this book but the build up to some of those key moments totally made up for it!!!! I was on pins and needles, anticipating that first kiss and the first time they were intimate. All that, made up for any crazy, hot sexy scene. The author did an amazing job on bringing out those feelings, making the reader feel like they were experiencing their firsts.
I highly recommend this book!!! It was funny, sweet, emotional, and just extremely well written!!! It's definitely a favorite book of mine!

If you loved the Bad Habits series then this book is absolutely right up your alley!!! Tyler and Cam are dreamy and completely not what I expected. A super giant ex football yummy and comic con book guru meet up in a bar...for reals! Wasted words is the best word play I couldn't have ever dreamed up myself (and that's why Staci makes the big bucks ;) ) Tu
This book was creative and sweet, yet sophisticatedly endearing. Each of the characters played an important roll in making sure Cam didn't get trapped inside her own brain for to long, because that can only prove to be dangerous.
I LOVED how Wasted Words was dreamed up in Last Call and made a bitch'n reality on its own. The story line was adorable and brilliantly creative. Characters were fiercely independent with a twist of need for more racing through them. The fact that Rose & Tricky were in this book made me completely fall in love hard and never want to leave this fantasy bookstore bar. I love the whole roommate forbidden love thing! Will they or won't ey make a play for each other... Seriously angsty madness unfolding at every swipe of the page.
Best spinoff book from a series I think I've ever read. I truly love Staci and her writing style. It's clear and constructive making the read easy and the flow awesome. The fact that I can read her books cover to cover in mere hours is a testament to good writing. She has a great sense of humor and her characters are edgy with fantastic personalities. I completely recommend this book and all of Staci's work!!

Author Bio
Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life: a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, even though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.
From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's sleeping, cleaning, or designing graphics.
