This is the second book in the Sunset Cove series and it was AMAZING!!! This is about a relationship that spans over ten years. From the instant they saw each other there was a connection but with Jordan being Derick's professor it made any sort of relationship between the two a little difficult. Through out the years they were always drawn back to each other. There was a constant up and down, push and pull that they just couldn't get over until finally they both realized they needed each other.
I really liked that this book started out in the past and moved towards the present. It make the story really easy to follow. I love the characters. They were sort of an opposites attract kind of story. Jordan was this confident, cocky, flamboyant man while Derick was more the big, brooding, bad boy. But together they worked! While this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the first book, then this book. The four characters, in the two books, make appearances in both because the story lines do cross over with each other. Overall, just a fantastic book!

Holy Shite!
This book is Amazing!
When I first met Jordan Devaney I thought he was going to be one of those flamboyant sissy types. Well he is just a smidge over-the-top with the way he dresses, but I gotta say his Alpha was very sexy. And he's so happy and full of life that there wasn't any way to keep from falling in love with him.
Didn't expect that.
And Derek, well he just plain 'ole broke my heart a little. I wanted to hug him and tell him it was all gonna be okay. Jordan did an excellent job with that. BTW.
Together Derek and Jordan are hot- hot -hot, but they also have very real struggles as life and circumstances force both men to take good looks at themselves and each other.
Derek lets things hold him back and his vulnerability touched my heart.
This book is a real page turner and will make you lose sleep.
Oh, and I cheered Derek on as he finally had his say.

This title did not fit this story at all. I expected something cryptic, dark even but what I read was beautiful. It was courageous not callus. It was strength beyond anything I had ever seen masked by what appears to be defeat. Even the mask of defeat kept hidden something even I didn't see right away...respect. In its purest form, simplistically asked for and quietly agreed upon. Derek and Jordan evolved from strangers into more. Fighting to belong to each other and fighting to believe in one another.
This second installment in the sunset cove series was a good read for sure! The story was a complete journey of self discovery for Derek. He needed to see who he truly was to appreciate the quirkiness that Jordan brought to the table. Jordan had to learn to appreciate that the simpler things in life would be his most treasured possessions. They were fantastic together and truly made for each other. One witty and bold and the other cautious and strong. Together a force to be reckoned with.
I love this author and her writing style so much. I love the men she writes about because they hold so much conviction and don't offer a ton of drama. I feel that because her books lack supreme angst, the true nature of the characters can shine through. This book was a great continuation in a fantastic series. I can't wait for more from Ella!!
