EVERY.SINGLE.TIME I read one of Marquita's books I fall deeper and deeper in love with her writing style and story lines. This book was sooooo anticipated and met every expectation. She used her quick southern wit and swoon worthy charm to hook me in after the first few pages. I just can't say enough how much I loved reading Piper and Jase's story!!
Jase Simmons is a freak'n GOD in every sense of the word. He's scary as hell on the outside and as tender as a well cooked filet mignon one he inside. Every ounce of me was screaming savory & delicious as I read this book!!! He was so tattooed yumminess and I just couldn't get enough. I know the bad boy thing is hot but he really surprised me and brought out the southern boy I was hoping was hidden in there somewhere.
Piper Ross is 100% southern belle and vixen all wrapped up in an adorable twin set and f#%k me heals. She was so awesome to watch go into assertive woman on a mission when the time called for it. Piper was the PERFECT match for Jase and their journey of discovery. Seeing piper come into her own in this book was like watching a flower bloom. You know the bud is beautiful but the open petals are the sweetest.
Marquita is one of those authors at I am quick to read. Everyone of her books so far have been adorably sweet and seductively HOT! She has an amazing writing style that has me seriously finishing her books in one sitting. She writes honestly and completely and has has amazing story and character development. I 100% recommend this book and pretty much anything Marquita writes!

This book did a wonderful job of combining two completely opposite characters and telling their story beautifully. Piper is from The Oaks, her father is the chief of police, and her mother is from old money. She grew up privileged but, not happy. Jade grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, his druggie parents died leaving him to raise gunslinger sister.
They are both so different it shouldn't work but, Piper has loved Jase for a long time and she's tired of not getting what she wants. Their relationship is a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs. Meddling friends and family, insecurities, and health scares.
I really enjoyed this book. However I felt like with all the things stacked against them that Piper and Jase should have had a little bit harder time finding and keeping each other. All their problems seemed to resolve a little too easily. Not that Piper didn't fight hard to prove to Jase he was all she wants.
