Once inside the apartment, I drew a hot bath. The rope fantasy I’d had earlier in the day had gone down the drain. It just didn’t make sense now. Right now, I just needed to hold my tiger. THAT MAN 1

This was my first series author Nelle L’Amour. I enjoyed it immensely. In this book, part one of the That Man series we get introduced to Jennifer and Blake.

Jennifer, while out one night with friends, was dared to get blindfolded and walk about to a hot man in the bar and kiss him. That is where Blake comes in, although Jennifer did not know that at the time. See, Jennifer was engaged to a man named Bradley the night she was dared to kiss Blake. It was definitely a small world when Jennifer walked into Blake’s office for an interview.

Blake is a neaky bastard when he goes after what he wants! It just so happened that he got to be the hero that Jennifer needed. In That Man #1 we get to meet the characters and watch how their worlds come together. You will not fall in love with Blake by the end of this but you will want to keep reading the series to see what happens next.

THAT MAN 2

In That Man #2 we pick up where Blake gets to be the hero. But does get the girl? She is still engaged to her college boyfriend Bradley but it is getting harder for her to ignore the feelings that she is having for her boss, Blake Burns. Then there is Blake who has always been the player and has no idea how to make Jennifer his.

Jennifer is doing great in her new role even with Blake as her boss. She goes to Vegas to work on a project and Blake ends up accompanying her. Will being in Vegas let these two finally take that leap with each other or will Blake’s play boy ways ruin any chance of that happening? Blake becomes that neaky bastard and finally gets what he wants. But is it too much Jennifer? Time away for Christmas break may be exactly what they need, and I mean time away from each other.

By the end of That Man #2 I started liking Blake more and more. He is definitely becoming swoon-worthy.

Remember how I said that Blake was becoming swoon worthy in That Man #2? Well he has won me over! In That Man #3 we are now seeing Jennifer at home and Blake at a ski resort. Blake realizes that he isn’t going to let Jennifer go and he is going to fight like hell for her. AND HE DOES! What he does was amazing in so many ways. (keeping it spoiler free) “

When they get back to their lives at work and make things work with the relationship, people from the past come back and threaten to ruin everything they are working so hard to have. Will their love overcome all or will the past change their lives forever? “Baby for you, I’m invincible. I’m that man who’s going to take care of you. Protect you from the monsters of the world. Slay them if I have to. And no one’s going to get in my way. Do you understand me?”

Things are moving right along with Jennifer and Blake. Engaged, both ridiculously happy and very much in love. Things couldn’t be better right? Jennifer spoke to soon when her soon to be mother in law hires wedding planner from hell to plan the wedding of the century.

Plans are put into action and Blake’s past is threatening their happiness yet again. What did happen between him and Kat when they were younger? Will Blake ever tell Jennifer the truth or will Kat try and ruin their wedding with her truth?

When things seem to be going as planned, life has a funny way of throwing you a curve ball.

The great conclusion to That Man series is finally here. Will Blake and Jennifer have their wedding of the century or will Blake’s crazy ex ruin their forever? Life takes an unexpected turn with a life altering event. Will Blake and Jennifer survive it?

Life and love isn’t easy. Sometimes you have to fight like hell for the love you so desperately want. That is exactly what Blake and Jennifer did. Not letting the past dictate their present or their future. They ended up getting the future they fought so hard for.

So after reading the That Man series: Definitely rooted for Jennifer, and wanting to slap Blake several times (seriously can that man go one minute without thinking with his co*k?). I liked that they got their happily ever after.
