Well this is my very first Sawyer Bennett book & well… WOW… So glad I read this!!
In Sugar On The Edge we meet Savannah & Gavin AKA Sweet & Filthy!
This is one story that proves things aren’t always as they seem. When Gavin & Savannah first meet they form immediate impressions of each other, neither flattering the other. As their interactions slowly increase they both discover just how wrong they are. Savannah has had to face what no woman should ever have to go through in her past & Gavin has suffered a huge loss that would not be wished on anyone. As they get to know each other & their relationship progressed they both discover they have found the missing piece of themselves in each other.
Savannah is fairly innocent when it comes to relationships & if following pure instinct when it comes to Gavin. Although Gavin has been in a committed relationship in the past & has pretty much f***** half of London’s female population, he is still fairly overwhelmed when it comes to his relationship with Savannah. It is beautiful to watch them both grow together as a couple & to see them both revel in the amazing connection they share with each other as neither of them have had that in the past. It helps that their sex life is out of this world hot & they have no issues in that department!! Yes ladies you will probably need to fan yourselves while reading some of those scenes!!
What I love is that in amongst becoming a couple and falling in love, Gavin & Savannah also become best friends. They develop a bond that appears it could survive anything. But all is not as it seems & that bond is tested big time!
In this book we hear a lot about Savannah’s friends that are more like her family. They are very protective of her, Especially Brody. They are all there for her when they are needed most. They eventually warm to Gavin & accept him into their group, right up until he does what would be the unforgivable to most people. Although he wants to make Gavin sweat for what he has done, Brody can see he is suffering too & encourages Savannah to talk to him. As is true in real life, the road to happy ever after is often far from easy & they have a lot to work through before they can get there.
Sawyer Bennett has captured the moment of discovering a new relationship & that moment when a couple decides they are committed to seeing where the path will take them. She has captured the joy in discovering that one great love & she has captured the devastation & grief that is suffered when it is lost.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to read romance stories that have a SUPER HOT man & a beautiful woman, lots of HOT sex scenes (Yeah if you don’t like to read about sex then this isn’t for you!!) beautiful relationships, a bit of devastation & heartbreak thrown in, and a storyline you can really sink your teeth into. USA Today Best-Selling author, Sawyer Bennett, is a snarky southern woman and reformed trial lawyer who decided to finally start putting on paper all of the stories that were floating in her head. She is married to a mobster (well, a market researcher) and they have two big, furry dogs who hog the bed. Sawyer would like to report she doesn’t have many weaknesses but can be bribed with a nominal amount of milk chocolate.
