-LUCY-
There is a love so fierce it cannot be measured.
A heart so strong it will never slow.
There is a promise so sure it can never lie.
He promised me that love forever.
Even when it wasn't enough.

-CAMERON-
Forever. Everlasting. Eternal.
There is no measure of time.
No sounds of the ticking of a clock.
Just the rising and falling of the sun.
And our own sense of forever.

But our forever isn't always.

*MY BOOK OF THE YEAR*
*EMOTIONAL*
*INTENSE*HEARTBREAKING*SOUL CAPTURING*BEAUTIFUL*FOREVER STARS

 Review By Sam

Sometimes, if you are lucky, a book will be so intense, real and relatable that you feel like you are in that story with each of the characters and sharing every single event and each detail with them.  Sometimes you wish that when reading a book, you could stop time, rewind and re-read that whole first chapter for the very first time again just to feel those butterflies in your stomach and your heart skip that little flutter.

Jay McLean has written what can only be described as a literary masterpiece. Not only has she written with such beauty, but the emotion, heart and soul she has put into this wraps around you like a blanket during your reading experience and when you have finished Cam and Lucy’s journey, ensuring that it is a read you will remember, FOREVER.

“I love this time of day.”
“Sunset?”
“Yeah. You wanna know why?”
I nod against his chest.
“Because it reminds me of us.”
“How?”
“Because it’s eternal, the rise and fall of the sun. It’s forever. Just like us.”

I was lucky enough to be on this journey with Jay, but putting that aside, I read for the feels, I love the way a book can make you laugh so hard and then cry the next. Jay had the perfect combination of humour, sorrow and beautiful love and happiness. But do you know what makes me smile so hard, is the way that Jay McLean writes an absolute K.I.C.K.A.S.S dual POV! She is so freaking AWESOME at writing a male POV, she could actually be a dude ;-)

Jay has gone above and beyond with this beautiful story. In the previous books from the ‘More Series’ people meet drunk Lucy and funny Lucy, to which all readers are huge fans. However in this book, you get to see a whole new girl. Lucy has had to endure more than a girl of her age should, some scenes in the story made me feel so much pain in my chest that I was emotionally drained. But Jay has this way of healing the painful emotions you feel and that is why I think she is a GENIUS!!!

CAM........ WHAT.A.FREAKING.GUY! How many times does this guy make me want to strip my clothes off? I LOST FREAKING COUNT GOD DAMMIT!!!! He is literally the PERFECT book boyfriend! He is swoony, an absolute dawgggggggg in the bedroom, he loves Lucy with EVERYTHING he is, he is sweet, he is funny, oh for the love of GOD, I could talk about him for at least a year and that will still NOT be enough.
The friendships and supporting characters who we have met in previous books are ABSOLUTE GOLD. A few newies added into the mix, its guaranteed to be one AWESOME READ.

I do not want to put any BIG spoilers in this review, because I have too much respect for readers. EVERYONE should get to experience every part of this book personally, without knowing what they are going to encounter on the #TeamLuCa journey. Be prepared to be absolutely blown away and have you world completely ROCKED!
Jay McLean, I am so proud of you, blessed to know you and loved being on this journey with you. I sincerely hope from the bottom of my heart that everyone reading this review 1-clicks on ‘More Than Forever.’ It is without a doubt my ‘BOOK OF 2014’ and the most emotional, consuming, beautiful book I have had the privilege of reading.

Excerpt Three

I see her wobble on her feet before she slowly tumbles

to the ground. Her knees give out first, then the rest of

her. It feels like I should've gotten to her earlier, but

seconds of panic took place before my mind kicked into

gear. And the rest is a blur.

Her friend's standing over us while I rest her head on

my lap. "Lucy," I say. And it's the first time I've said

her name out loud. It'd been over three weeks since I'd

learned it.

"What happened?" Logan asks her friend.

"I don't know." She's as panicked as I am, if not

worse.

"Is she dehydrated?" Logan picks up what looks like an

uneaten sandwich. "Is this hers? Has she eaten?" I don't

know why it annoys me that Logan is asking all the right

questions and all I can do is stare down at her. She's

breathing, so I guess that's something.

He drops down on his knees on the other side of her and

pours water from his bottle into his hand, and then he

runs it across her forehead and into her hairline.

"Is she alright, mate?" Jake asks. He's new and has a

weird accent but Logan seems to think he's cool so we

keep him around.

Logan does the water thing again, and this time her

eyes slowly flutter open.

And I release the breath I was holding.

"It's okay," Logan says to her, "you just passed out."

He's in her face now, and I want to punch him for being

the first thing she sees when she comes to. I was here

first; I was the one watching her when she fell. It

should have been me.

Excerpt Four

"I hate that guy," Logan jerks his head toward Jake and

a new kid.

"The new kid? Dylan?"

He nods. "He thinks he owns the school."

"Really?" I glare over at them. "Apparently he kills

it on the basketball court, but I dunno." I shrug. "He

hasn't said two words to me. He seems quiet."

"Those are the ones you have to worry about, Cam. The

quiet broody assholes get all the girls. Better watch him

around that new girl of yours."

I play dumb. "What new girl?"

"Shut up, asshole. You don't think I notice you

watching her all the fucking time?"

I lift my chin. "I think if there's an asshole in this

entire school to watch out for, it's you."

He laughs and adjusts his cap. "You don't need to worry

about me. I'm not into stealing my friend's girls." He

shoves his hand in his catcher's glove and smacks my arm

with it. "Say the word. Claim her. I promise to stay away

and I'll make sure she's untouchable to everyone else."

"I'm not an asshole and she isn't property. I can't own

her."

"If that's what you want." He raises an eyebrow. "She's

cute. In a couple years she'll be hot. Guys will be all

over her. I'm just trying to help out."

I think about what he's saying, and he makes a good

point. Only he's wrong—she's hot now. "Fine. I claim her.

She's mine."

His smirk is instant. "You can't own someone, you pig.

She isn't property."

I laugh. "Fuck you."

Jake struts over to us. "Ya reckon that new kid Dylan

can hang out with us this arvo? He seems like a top

bloke."

Logan's gaze moves to me, confusion clear on his face.

I shrug. He lets out a chuckle before gripping both of

Jake's shoulders and shaking him gently. He looks him

right in the eye, speaking slowly and clearly. "I have no

idea what the fuck you just said."

The More Series

More Than This, #1

*Mikayla*

In one night my fairytale ended. Or it may have begun. This is my story of friendship and love, heartbreak and desire, and the strength to show weakness.

*Jake*

One night I met a girl. A sad and broken girl, but one more beautiful than any other. She laughed through her sadness, while I loved through her heartbreak.

*This is our story of a maybe ever after.*

He was right. It made no difference whether it was 6 months or 6 years.

I couldn’t undo what had been done. I couldn’t change the future.

I couldn’t even predict it.

It was one night.

One night when everything changed.

It was so much more than just the betrayal.

It was the Tragedy.

The Deaths.

The Murders.

But it was also that feeling.

The feeling of falling.

More Than Her, #2

For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction." For every choice you make there are rewards, or there are consequences. It was my choice to walk away the first time. And my choice to chase her the second. But sometimes you don't get a choice, and all you get are the consequences.” "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” Unless that someone is Logan Matthews. Because loving him didn't give me the strength to walk away. It didn't give me the courage to fight for him. And when it was over, all it gave me was a broken heart.

More Than Him, #3

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us." - Marianne Williamson

We live in a world of darkness and shadows,
where monsters hide and aim to ruin.
And they did.
They ruined us and turned our dreams into nightmares.
But now we're back.
And we're fighting.
Not just for us, or for each other, but for our light.
