Review:

Who doesn't love a good rumor, right?  It's not so fun when the rumors are about your secrets or sins.

After catching her fiance, Gavin in the act with another woman, Greer Addison heads to the local bar to drown her misery.  She's doing a fine job when local hottie Raphael Marcel notices her presence and cannot resist commenting.

Greer had the pleasure of meeting Raphael the previous week when he was called to consult on a project for her employer.  Her body reacts to him the same way it reacted last week - he's a dish of cream and she's the kitten.  Throwing caution to the wind, she decides to give in and have a wild night with him.

Greer remembers that night pretty well or at least parts of it.  When she gets back to her apartment that night, she sees Gavin laying in a pool of blood and that's all she sees before she gets knocked out; she awakens in the hospital the next day.

Fast forward four months, Greer still doesn't remember arriving back at her apartment that night but she remembers everything leading up to it.  She's no longer the main suspect in Gavin's murder although his family is convinced she did it.  She's receiving threatening letters.  The camel's back breaks when she goes out to her car to head to her OB/GYN appointment and her car is vandalized and in the front seat is a doll with the eyes gouged out.

Yep, you guessed it.  Two weeks ago Greer was no longer able to deny the lingering nausea and fatigue might be caused by something other than the stress of Gavin's murder and the resulting media circus.  She turns to Raphael for help since he specializes in security work and he is the baby-daddy.  It was a bit of a surprise since Greer has had no contact with him since their night together.

Greer doesn't know that this isn't Raphael's first go-round as a baby-daddy.  Seven years ago the woman he loved was pregnant and he was the proud poppa-to-be.  It turned out that she was cheating on him the whole time and the baby wasn't his.  So Raphael isn't too trusting that Greer is telling the truth.  What Raphael didn't know is that Greer and Gavin made a pact not to have relations for the six months leading up to the wedding which had been a week away.  There is no doubt the baby is Raphael's.

The author takes you on a delightful journey where Greer and Raphael are faced with having to share their deepest and darkest fears or risk facing their future alone all the while trying to unmask a madman and keep themselves in one piece.  The supporting cast of characters is lovable and help develop the story line.  Their stories are told in other books in the series; I read Secrets and Sins:  Raphael as a stand alone novel and look forward to reading more from this author.

Warning:  You may find this book so engrossing that a hundred pages will be read before you come up for air.

Author Bio:
Naima Simone’s love of romance was first stirred by Johanna Lindsey and Linda Howard many years ago. Though her first attempt at writing a romance novel at age 11 never saw the light of day, her love of romance and writing has endured. Now, she spends her time creating stories of unique men and women who experience the dizzying heights of passion and the tender heat of love.

She is wife to Superman—or his non-Kryptonian, less bullet proof equivalent—and mother to the most awesome kids ever. They all live in perfect, domestically-challenged bliss in the southern United States.
