So whenever this author brings out a duet, you can bet you are going to cry, be angry, be emotional, have so many feelings and then want to scream at the end of the first book. And then when you read the second one, its full of angst and you don't know what's going to happen. Will it be more crying, screaming and so much more. And every single time she delivers.
This book was captivating, emotional, intense and so much freaking more. Cora to me is a freaking saint. I mean after we read how history in the first book, you would think she would run and just leave everything behind her, but she didn't do that, she couldn't leave her girls and she looked after each of them. Penn oh my word, freaking perfect book boyfriend ever!! No words to describe him. I absolutely loved him.
My review is not about the story, but about how I felt when reading this duet, as I am sorry to say you will have to read it from the first one to the next one. To many spoilers to give out and you have to experience this for yourself. Freaking amazing story Aly Martinez. You remind me of why I love reading <3

I kind of hate that this is only a duet. The second installment of the Truth Duet is a doozy. There is so much action and angst packed into this second half that you don't dare put it down in fear of missing a detail.
Cora has been dealt blow after blow. Just when she thought she was in the clear, the devil himself shows up. Dealing with that as well as grieving loss yet again, all while trying to stay sane for her girls, to take care of them like she always said she would, when does a person reach their breaking point?
Ms. Martinez knows how to pack a punch. These kinds of stories are the ones that I love so much. Packed full of action, you're never left bored or guessing for too long. I feel like she understands us as readers. She usually always gives us two books, doesn't leave us waiting long, and gives us the angst that many of us crave. This series was one for the books. It was creative and different. What more can we ask for?

AUTHOR INFORMATION:
Originally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her four young children. Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and baked feta. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person. She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.
