REVIEW ~ Take A Chance by Annalisa Nicole

Book Title: Take A Chance
Author: Annalisa Nicole
Release date: October 30, 2013

Willow Emery is in the middle of chemotherapy when she literally runs into Asher Wellington on the sidewalk after treatment with a rather unfortunate outcome. She is alone in a new city and doesn’t need anyone in her life. If life has taught her anything it’s that you can’t rely on anyone.

Asher is a young widower, devastated by the tragic death of his wife Olivia three years earlier. He has given up the idea of ever finding the kind of love that he shared with his late wife. Will one fateful day bring two lost souls together? Will taking a chance lead them to a happily ever after or will the challenges they face keep them apart?

After reading the blurb for Take a Chance by Annalisa Nicole I thought I was in for a seriously heavy read with tons of angst. I was surprised to find that though there were devastating events that occurred in the lives of each of the main characters, this was more of a sweet love story about healing and moving forward.

Willow Emery has breast cancer. She is halfway through her chemotherapy when she meets Asher Wellington, a young CEO still mourning the loss of his wife three years after a tragic accident, in the  introduction of all introductions. She literally runs into him outside of the treatment center and pukes on him. This chance encounter leads both Willow and Asher to find exactly what they each need in order to find happiness and healing. Asher soon turns into her knight in shining armor and Willow helps Asher to rebuild and revive after his loss.

Although I am a huge angst junkie and was actually looking forward to a heavy emotional read, I never snub my nose at a heartwarming story that is fulfilling and touching. Take a Chance is exactly that, a moving story that is beautiful and uplifting, hopeful and emotive. A delightful debut and I look forward to reading more from Annalisa Nicole in book two of the series about Asher’s sister Amelia.

4 Stars!!
