You scream. I scream. We all scream during … well, you get the point.
After a failed eight-year relationship and a cross-country move, the last thing I’m looking for as a single mom is a new flame. In fact, diapers, walls marked in crayon, and daycare pickup are the only things on my to-do list.
Enter Jake Brady, your friendly neighborhood food truck owner whose dimples and delicacies won’t seem to leave well enough alone. With more popularity than the president, his wine-infused sweet treats have our nation’s capital hooked. He’s spontaneous, smug and all-American gorgeous; a dangerous combination considering he has no interest in taking on the responsibilities that rule my life.
But when we can’t seem to sample enough of each other’s … desserts, things start to get complicated. Jake is biting off more than he can chew, and when I watch him with my daughter, I can’t seem to freeze my melting heart.
Maybe it’s his waffle cone. Maybe it’s his … banana split. Either way, I think I’m in trouble with a cherry on top.

This is a great story about a single mom who meets a single man with his own business and no family commitments and not looking to become an insta-dad.
I think what I liked about this book is the dose of reality that is included.
Jake has good intentions when it comes to Samantha and her daughter Lennon, but he learns very quickly that good intentions don’t always work out the way you planned.
Samantha has a brilliant sense of humour and gives the story a bit of lightness which really works for her blossoming relationship with Jake because their personalities are very well matched.
This is a bit of a slow burn romance but I don’t think that is because the characters choose it to be. I think the fact there is a 3 year old in the picture is why it is a more relaxed slow paced romance.
Both Samantha & Jake are likeable characters and the internal conflict they have with themselves is very funny at times.
It is easy to empathise with both these characters and see where they are coming from regarding different aspects of their lives and their relationship.
The support characters add value to the story and provide an entertaining buffer at times.
This is a sweet light romance that will have you craving all sorts of new ice cream favours.
This is a great holiday read and well worth getting your one click finger out for.

This was a sweet romantic book that will have you laughing out loud sometimes and other times wishing that you had some of that delicious ice cream they keep talking about.
This book is about a single mother Samantha who just moved back home with her 3 year old daughter. And about a single guy Jake who has his own ice cream truck business and about him getting use to dating a single mother with a very hyper mouthy 3 year old.
But after things get settled, sweet, romantic no drama romance.
