Holy blazing inferno.... I KNOW Nikki writes steamy slow burning desire but is book was literally a backdraft!! Seemingly easy met harsh and brash so fast my head almost spun. The word mafia alone gets my heart pumping because  of the sheer brutal drama that it comes with it, and this book was exactly that! High stakes, harsh words and a complete desire to win at all costs had Vasilije thinking he was in control. Oksana crept in and showed him how subtleness was the key to all things mafia. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.... Vasilije never had a chance!

Oh my Lord was there enough steam in this book to power a locomotive from coast to coast and then back again. These two characters were demure yet feisty which made them so entertaining to read. Oksana had all the benefits of being behind the scenes in her fathers house. She was that silent observer who watched and learned how to be ruthless yet gave no indication of her strength. Vasilije was just brash with a no f&cks given  attitude which should have gotten him killed, yet seemed to actually be just enough to make him feared and kept around. Together they didn't seem to fit, but he chemistry was amazing!  They were the complete compliment to each other and her submissive was able to tame his dominance, something he never saw coming. 

I love Nikki's books for the story line and her ability to smolder the hottest sexy I've ever read. It's so well done that the story bleeds an appeal that makes the book almost impossible to put down. Characters that seem unlikely turn into brilliant pairings that molded together as though they were never two individuals yet one all along. This story line was all things harsh with the compliment of pure lusty goodness. Completely recommend the book,

About the Author:

Nikki Sloane landed in graphic design after her careers as a waitress, a screenwriter, and a ballroom dance instructor fell through. For eight years she worked for a design firm in that extremely tall, black, and tiered building in Chicago that went through an unfortunate name change during her time there. Now she lives in Kentucky and manages a team of graphic artists. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America, is married with two sons, writes dirty books, and couldn’t be any happier.
