Bad Son Rising by Julie A. Richman ~ Release Day Blitz & Review

Congrats & Happy Release to Julie A Richman!

Bad Son Rising is LIVE!

Blurb:
People think I'm a douche.
And maybe I am.
I use most people.
It's what I know.
But if I love you,
I'd die for you.
I just don't know that I'm worth loving.

Handsome, privileged bad boy Zac Moore has always played by his own rules - at school, in business, with women. He's rewritten the rules to suit his own needs and his needs are all that matter.

Serious and focused family friend Liliana Castillo has one goal. Leave the pre-Med program at Yale to help people in developing nations.

As their paths cross and uncross, a tale of love, agony, betrayal and growth is woven, transforming two people who've hidden from relationships and love.

This is a stand-alone novel.

Review by: Leeann

If you have read the Needing More series, you will know who Zac Moore is.. If you haven’t then don’t worry, this book can be read as a standalone & will still make perfect sense!!

Zac Moore is one of the most complex young male characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading about.
He comes across as your typical bad boy. He is a college student & seems to be out for nothing more than a good time with any girls that are willing. That is the image he hides behind anyway. As the story progresses you get to see what Zac went through as a child. His warped introduction to sex is enough to make any good mothers blood boil.. well except his own mothers that is.

The only person other than his father that knows his secret is his best friend Liz. Liz or Lizard as Zac likes to call her has his back.. And he has hers because she has her own secrets.

Then Zac meets Lilliana.. Although he has had lots of sex he has never experienced love. Lilliana rocks his world literally. At first she is wary of him, but eventually she sees there is more to him then he shows the world. They both decide to explore the possibility of a relationship. Then a life or death situation occurs  and choices have to be made.
Zac will give his own life to save Lilliana and things between them come to an abrupt end. They run into each other a little while later but it takes a while for them to get back on track.. There are still many hurdles for them to overcome to be together & Lilliana has a few moments where she questions if it is all worth it.
They need to find a way to get past the hurdles in front of them & reach their long term individual goals & still come out together & stronger at the end.
Lilliana complements Zac so well & the way the bounce off each other is almost magical.

This is a beautiful story that really shows that family is everything & you don’t need to be blood related to be family. Sometimes the family that is not connected by blood will protect you in ways that you blood relations would never dream of if it meant they were caught out being in the wrong. This is a story about a young boys innocence being taken from him by someone he should have trusted & the 1 person in the world that was meant to protect him failed miserably & still fails to see that is the case. This young boys fights every day to overcome his past & the support he has from his dad & step mum is astounding. Although they are not blood related Zac’s step mum Mia will go to the ends of the earth for him & has proven time & time again how much she loves him. At one point in this book he needs someone to stand up for him & Mia rises to the challenge beautifully.
There are moments in this story that will make you laugh, they will make you emotional, but you will want to read the whole book to see if Zac & Mia make it out on the other side still as in love as they were when their story really began.

Julie Richman has done another beautiful job bringing her characters to life. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us with her future projects!!

Bad Son Rising Excerpt

“I wasn’t kidding when I said that I was not going to be able to wait for next time.”

Lily’s elusive smile started at the corners of her mouth, lifting the apples of her cheeks and crinkling the outer edges of her gold-flecked eyes. “Do you seriously think you’re going to bang me against a Baobab tree?”

“I know I’m going to bang you against a Baobab tree.” He was already working on the zipper of her jeans. With his hands inside her pants, he slipped them into her underwear, tightly grasping her ass.

Lily’s gasp was audible as he kneaded a cheek with each hand.

“Are you ready for me?” he whispered.

Nodding she stepped out of her jeans and he undid his. Lifting her, she wrapped her legs around his slim hips and he lowered her onto his waiting cock. Leaning her back against the ancient tree trunk for leverage, Zac thrust his hips up burying himself deeply within Lily.

Her eyes were wide as she let out another gasp. “I’ve never fucked against a tree.”

Zac laughed, “It’s a first for me too, babe.” And after a few more strokes, “Tighten your legs around me, Lils.” Not taking his eyes off of hers, “You feel so damn good.”

“You too,” were the only words she could squeak out and finally, as a result of his deep pounding, with bated breath, “Zac.”

He nodded, “I know, babe.” His final powerful thrusts had her back molded to the tree.

He fell into her, the old Baobab holding them both up. With their heads on one another’s shoulders, they stood very still until they’d both regained their breath.

Hand-in-hand they headed back to camp.

Please don’t fall in love with me, Zac silently warned.

Please fall in love with me, Zac silently prayed.
